Book Description

How to Draw Manga (Graphic-Sha Numbered) November 1, 2005
Manga as it appears in a magazine has actually been reduced from its original size. Creating artwork on a single sheet of manga drawing paper relies on countless factors that must be learned. Using what can be gleaned from the original manga drawing as its springboard, the first chapter covers in minute detail the uses of materials and tools of the trade. Chapter Two approaches character basics from various angles. Chapter Three introduces techniques for portraying or dramatizing characters.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great!, April 22, 2007
This review is from: How To Draw Manga: Ultimate Manga Lessons Volume 2: The Basics Of Characters And Materials (How to Draw Manga (Graphic-Sha Numbered)) (V. 2) (Paperback)
This is the second book in the Ultimate Manga Lessons. I own the first and the fifth one. This one gives you great insight on the tools used for drawing and creating your own manga. It gives great step-by-step instructions on how to use them as well. It also explains speed lines and how to start creating your own manga. I highly suggest this book to anyone. Each book that I have gotten from the Ultimate Manga lessons I have been extremely pleased with. If you want to draw great manga, these are the books for you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good for Beginners, March 16, 2010
This review is from: How To Draw Manga: Ultimate Manga Lessons Volume 2: The Basics Of Characters And Materials (How to Draw Manga (Graphic-Sha Numbered)) (V. 2) (Paperback)
I bought this book to complete my set of Ultimate Manga Lessons, but it's a bit too basic for me. It is *very* similar to volume 1, but seems to be more of a detailed look.
