Book is good instead of investing in Manga Studio,

Many aritsts haven't really mastered the understanding of screentones. This book is really good for those who can't afford to go out and buy sheets of traditional screentone. The book covers human characters and how to treat it with screentones. The book also comes with a CD rom with the screentones you can install in Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop. (I haven't tried to see if Gimp would accept the plug in).
The plug in interface is very easy. Some faults with the book is that it tells you to create etching brushes, and while it gives you a basic idea, I think it could provide some sample brushes itself. It can leave the reader confused as to what size the etching brushes need to be produced at. I found at least this book worth the purchase for the plug in CD alone, unfortunately if you're a Mac user you cannot use it. If you're in the unfortunate position of working for a company that demands 1200 dpi for screentones, I also wouldn't recommend the book either. This is however a rather cost saving alternative than buying Manga Studio which also has computones. 100 tones for this book is really rather inexpensive.
