I used this video to help introduce a group of kids to basic concepts of art. The video teaches basic perspective and form. The tips on creativity (combining different creatures to make a new creature) are similar to tips in creativity books for professionals. The background music is at times very rhythmic and several kids (mostly boys) really enjoyed the sound. If you want to teach kids about art but lack experience as an artist this is a good way to introduce the subject.

This is the best instructional video i've ever seen!
Not only does it go into the technical side of drawing, but it deals with the methodology behind the creative process. You learn alot about creativity which is lacking from anything else i've ever seen on the subject of drawing. Don't be fooled by the title, I found this video useful for every subject matter that I create, not just monsters. As a teacher of character design, I cannot recommend this video enough! As an artist, I'll say that this would be a great addition to your reference collection! And as a student, I'll say it has been one of the best lessons i've ever had. |
