From the Author

Acrylic paints are probably more fun and easier to control than any other medium I’ve worked in. A forgiving medium -- especially if you’re just starting out -- acrylic has quick-drying properties that allow you to paint over areas of your work without delay. And the various acrylic mediums available offer a wide range of possible modifications -- such as slowing the drying time, thinning the paints, or building up texture -- allowing you to create a variety of effects. All this makes acrylic ideal for depicting subjects and scenes from around the world, with their wide diversity of texture and color. Combine these advantages with the fact that acrylic also cleans up easily with soap and water, and it’s hard to argue against acrylic as a painting medium! I hope you enjoy the experience of working with acrylic as you paint the scenes featured in this book. From a lush, tropical Hawaiian waterfall and a warm Mediterranean sunset to an old-world landmark and a busy European street scene -- with acrylic, you can capture it all. --Tom Swimm --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

art is to be seen, to learn to look, sorry these books do not get it for me. As an artist of 50 years, one learns to see then create.
