A must have for all BlackBerry users,
By Jane Tren (Houston) - See all my reviews
This review is from: How to Do Everything with Your BlackBerry (Paperback)
I was wondering when a BlackBerry book would finally hit the shelves, and I was not disappointed. How To Do Everything with your BlackBerry explores all that your BlackBerry can do and how to make the most of it. I learned a number of tricks I did not know, even though I have been using the BlackBerry for some time now. This book is easy to read and full of step-by-step examples. BlackBerry users - get it!

A Tutor in a Book,
By
This review is from: How to Do Everything with Your BlackBerry, Second Edition (Paperback)
I got this book because I'm thinking of buying a BlackBerry and I wanted to know what they are all about. After going through the book, I feel like I've had a private tutoring session with an expert on how to use the thing, even though I never held one in my hand. I may go with a lightweight notebook over buying a BlackBerry now that I'm aware of some of its limitations, but it's an impressive device and now I'll be able to make a decision on the merits.

Good Book,

This review is from: How to Do Everything with Your BlackBerry, Second Edition (Paperback)
This book was very helpful in understanding the basic operations of my backberry. It had good tips that was very helpful and made the learning curve a lot easier. However, I had one problem with this book. It is an old issue and does not cover the latest devices. It would have been perfect if it had been updated.

This book has been updated to reflect the ever changing world of the BlackBerry, and the new book version is really good. Full of practical usage tips and good information on how to use the BlackBerry more effectively.

Severely needs updating,
By Mare (Chicago) - See all my reviews
This review is from: How to Do Everything with Your BlackBerry, Second Edition (Paperback)
As someone who teaches Blackberry usage, I found this book useful for some really, really, basic info, but it just doesn't go far enough. For instance, the author tells you how useful the PIN feature is, but not how to use it. And there are simple features (such as 'encryption' and 'antialiasing') that a user will find by exploring her blackberry that are not mentioned in this book.
Also, the author says you can not view any attachments on your BB. So not true. A "viewer" is always available on the 7200 & later models.

Super guide to the Blackberry,
By Eva Vandergelt "Eva Vandergelt" (Coral Gables, FL) - See all my reviews

I've had my BlackBerry for a while now, and like others here, I learned a number of tricks I did not know! Very concise, well written book which I've recommended to 2 others who I keep in contact with via BB.

Don't Waste Your Money,
This review is from: How to Do Everything with Your BlackBerry (Paperback)
As is often true of technical manuals, this is not up to date. Besides, Blackberry has excellent support on its web site. You don't need this and it won't be much use if you do need help.

doesn't help !,
By Salman Qutb (Pakistan) - See all my reviews

This book is useful only if you've lost your original BB manual. As there's hardly anything extra contained it that is not in the manual or the online assistance. I was particularly interested in how to use my BB as a modem for my laptop but totally disappointed. Its contents caters mainly to a 7290 model.

Depends Upon How You Define "Everything",
By
This review is from: How to Do Everything with Your BlackBerry, Second Edition (Paperback)
"Everything" is an overstatement, albeit a great notion. I wanted to learn to do everything!
But if you want to move your desktop icons you will need to go to Blackberry's website to find out how, and if you are unable (despite following instructions) to remove the pesky default ad-tag line "Sent wirelessly ..." that appears after your signature in emails you will have to phone your service provider. This nice-looking book does not tell you "everything" by any means. It is actually little more than a restatement of the documentation that comes with a Blackberry.

Not helpful with newer blackberries,
By
This review is from: How to Do Everything with Your BlackBerry (Paperback)
I bought this book for the office hoping it would help in understanding the simple tasks as well as the more detailed tasks the blackberry is capable of performing. It was a little disappointing. I found more help on the blackberry website tutorial than I found in this book. Hopefully a book will come out that has been revised for the newer blackberries that will be more helpful.
