5.0 out of 5 stars Very Useful, February 27, 2002
This is a very useful book. Whether you're looking for a reference manual or a users' guide, you'll be sure to find the information you need here. The many pictures and highlighted tips and notes make "How to Do Everything with Your Pocket PC" easy to read, and easy to quickly find the information you're looking for.

The Second Edition has been updated with new information, including details about Pocket PC 2002 and even the very new Pocket PC Phones. Where specifics are different between the Pocket PC 2000 and Pocket PC 2002 versions, this very thorough book covers both.

The information is all current, the pictures useful, and the tips excellent. Whether you're a newcomer to Pocket PCs looking for basic information, or a more sophisticated user looking for reference information, you'll be sure to get a lot of good information from this guide.

3.0 out of 5 stars this book is not current - Updated Revision Needed Now, September 24, 2003

While I enjoyed the book and found much of the information informative, I was also disapointed that it's focus is on the 3100,3600,3700,3800 series and the MicroSoft CE 2002 operating system. The 3870 is the latest model referenced and it was released 11/15/2001, almost two years ago. Alot of changes have happened and this book is not current.

I have just been introduced to the iPAQ world with a 5555 and MS CE 2003. Most of the CE 2003 Operating System is the same (in appearence) as CE 2003. After reading the HP users manual, which I found sparce, I purchased this book partly for configuration information of WiFi email (which is a major bullet on the cover) and troubleshooting.

I found the book's information on configuration of WiFi email to be basic, almost the same at the HP manual, and there was little information to deal with setup problems that do arise. There are only 2 pages devoted out of 365 that deal with troubleshooting...

Excellent book! Buy this book if you are new to the Pocket PC!!! I tried another and it just did'nt have the detail. McPherson writes like he is sitting next to you! It is easy to read and I've become educated in how to use my ipaq more efficently. McPherson also has many useful websites within the book that are very helpful.
