5.0 out of 5 stars Moms: Read this, too!, December 6, 2001

Raising three children, this is THE best resource book for dads and moms. Sections deal with children age by age and the index includes gifts and toy ideas for each age. Wonderful to use as children grow. Find out why nine year olds like "clubs" and being exclusive; how to prepare your child for junior high; what to give instead of non-ineractive presents. Forget Play Station: here are ideas that will entice your child to think on his own. I used this book for years and it's marked up! Need a new one for my grandson.

I have been using and recommending this book for many many years and I still do. It does a great job of plainly explaining child development and the early adolescence info is particularly thorough and understandable. I have not come across a better book. The books I have seen are either so academic that they are of minimal help to the parent or so basic thatb the info provided is minimal. Great book for all parents.
