5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for the family!, October 18, 2007
By
This review is from: How to Feed a Teenage Boy: Recipes and Strategies (Paperback)
I wish my family had this book when I was growing up. The recipes aren't just for teenage boys; they're healthy and easy recipes for the whole family. There are good tips scattered throughout the book on making kitchen life easier, as well as insight into how teenage boys should eat. There are also great tips on how to get guys to eat healthier, like put healthy food where they will find it! Excellent for anyone who is looking to help her family eat healthier, even without teenage boys.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good ideas for "boy food", September 27, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Much more than a collection of recipes, this book gives practical information and advice on making yummy, healthy food that teenage boys (and the rest of the family) will enjoy (or come to enjoy, if they're currently more focused on takeaways and snack foods).

It covers everything from what to stock your cupboards with, ideas for saving time, food you can prepare in advance so that hungry teens have good stuff to eat after school, and creative ways to encourage them to eat healthy, fresh food. Good ideas for how to involve boys in making food, whether it's tasty snacks and "minimeals", or the family meal, and how to help them develop useful skills for looking after themselves.

The recipes give ideas for everything from breakfast, lunches, and drinks to snacks and meals, with a refreshingly broad range of options and ingredients. Great ways to try some new cereals and grains, and ideas to give a different flavour to some familiar (and possibly boring) family meals. I can recommend the Any Day Muffins, and I love the idea of getting them 90% ready the night before and cooking them quickly in the morning! What a start to a school day...
