Book Description

April 24, 2009
Warning: Etiquette Is Back . . . This Time It's Sexy!

The old-fashioned, repressed, bland man has been banished to the Himalayas and a new breed is taking center stage. He is a man of style, sophistication, and security, just as strong and confident as his predecessor, but far more diverse in his interests, his tastes, and, most importantly, his self-image. He may be seen at an NBA game one night and an art gallery opening the next.

Bereolaesque
is that much needed fusion between being a gentleman and being sexy. This savoir-faire man's guide walks every man through the stages of ordinary to excellence in just two hundred pages.

Perfect for that coffee table discussion, Bereolaesque lends quality information to everyday people and celebrities alike. Beyond the book's mysteriously eye capturing cover are innovative and appealing ways to maneuver through life's crazes, while keeping cool and maintaining manners.

In the midst of a world plagued with economic turmoil, tasteless politics and dark behavior, the gentleman is refreshing and necessary.

Bereolaesque is for every man and every woman who believe that chivalry is Not dead, and individuals who are willing to learn exactly how far something as simple as being a gentleman and proper etiquette can get you in life. Not to mention, ladies are always quite pleased to meet a real gentleman. . .

About the Author

Rurally raised, yet metropolitan minded. A casual author and somewhat of a perfectionist in all realms. Learning lessons but staying honest. Because he is shameless, he is an open book and because he is sharp, he is self-restrained. Full of emotion, but always rational. Humble, but quite often ostentatious. He comes off as a walking, talking dichotomy which makes him absolutely human, just like you.

Bereola is renowned by gentlemen current and past alike. He has spent the vast majority of his life traveling and researching etiquette and applying it in society.

This is the first of his Bereolaesque series.

5.0 out of 5 stars There is Something for Everyone in Here August 31, 2010
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
There are numerous ways to judge a book, and three that stick out for me are the following: good flow, good insight, and good editing. With a topic like this, one where the focus is on enhancing a man and bringing their best qualities to the surface, Bereola not only did all of them, he did them well.

The author finds a way to make this book personal in nature, and in a way that men can feel at ease. There is something for every single man, from every single walk of life, to take. You can highlight certain attributes of your personality and still retain the person that you are, and that is something he explains, reinforces, and encourages throughout the book. For example, if you're a wine taster, there's something for you. If you are the type to buy flowers for your lady of interest, there's something for you. If you're the type who likes to experiment with your appearance, there is something for you. If you're a "manly man," and are set in your ways (which isn't totally a bad thing), he provides insight to how you can enhance your person and still have that edge that makes you a manly man. If you're a cigar lover, there's something for you. If you're a globetrotter, there's something for you. For a man who feels they have all the tools, there's still something for you; if nothing else, just to know there is someone who has insight, and can approach a situation differently can serve as another tool to add to your arsenal.

Honestly, this is something I recommend for middle-school boys, high school kids, college men, post-college men, old-school men, fathers; basically, any kind of man there is. It will not only enhance the lives of others around you, it will, most importantly, enhance the life of the person who directly is taking it in. The author's editor also did a solid job and should be commended; for some people, editing isn't a big deal, but with a book of this nature, which can be seen as self-help, motivational, character-building, etc; it helps that the author had a person (or people) to make sure the content flowed smoothly. This is a book I wholeheartedly endorse, and encourage others to pick up, and take in, in its entirety.

During spending aimless time on the internet I ran across an intriguing blog ran by Robert I. Brown. As I went looking through the different blog posts I noticed two things, one to be just 16 he had a great sense of style and, two he seemed very well read and written. After a few chats with Robert, I noticed he kept speaking of a book called Bereolaesque: The Contemporary Gentleman & Etiquette Book for the Urban Sophisticate. I know it seems like a mouthful, but its a good read.

As you can tell by the title, its about teaching men how to be gentleman. He gives A LOT of helpful tips. However, it does seem as if he's basically reteaching manners and respect throughout the book. As I was reading, I began to think that I knew all of what Enitan Bereola II was discussing, but deeply intrigued I continued to read and was rewarded generously. We all were taught manners as children growing up, some of us may or may not have strayed away from them, but I can almost guarantee we weren't taught dining etiquette, office etiquette, what the different flowers mean or several different ways to approach women. If you were taught these things, you're a lucky individual. I'll be the first to admit that I didn't know a great deal of the content in this book and that Bereolaesque taught me things I'll continue to use in my everyday life.

He even gives a set of rules to which men should apply to there everyday lives. I'll save that joy for you to discover. Let's just say they're very applicable and accurate. The section of the book I found most interesting was the etiquette section. I personally learned quite a deal of new and interesting things.

Overall I gives this book a 4.5/5. I wish it was a tad bit longer, however this is only the first book in this series. I anxiously await the next book.I suggest you go buy this book and read it if you're a man, or buy it for the most important man in your life. It will undoubtedly improve his life.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read for Any Man Who Aspires to Be Great April 10, 2010
Format:Hardcover
Style and sophistication are elusive concepts to most people thought of to only be possessed by the cream of the crop. This book bridges that gap by showing how a man should present himself to be seen as a gentleman. It mentors without overimposing itself. Everyone should check this out!
