Book Description

In 2012, Captain Austin George was cast in one of Cable TV’s most dramatic and influential dating shows. He wrote this book because as he was going through the casting process, there was no one source that could accurately and definitively tell him EXACTLY what needed to be done to get cast for Reality TV. Using his Masters-level education combined with his humor and checklist-like pilot precision, he delivers a direct and blatantly honest assessment of EXACTLY what you need to do if you want to get cast for a Reality TV show. If you apply the techniques revealed in this book you WILL get cast on Reality TV.

Captain Austin George has been flying professionally since 2000 and has piloted U.S. and foreign military troops to war in the Middle East, Europe and Asia. He has flown for U.S. carriers such as Delta Connection and United Express, start-up, low-cost airlines, private corporate charters, professional and college sports teams, and for sensitive government contracts. He has the highest qualified pilot rating, an Airline Transport Pilot license, has logged over 5,000 flight hours and has type ratings on the Boeing 737, 757, 767, Airbus 320 and the MD-80.

Captain George earned his undergraduate degree from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, cum laude, and his Executive MBA from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He is also an active member of the community as a participant in the mentoring program, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and conducts career advice via public speaking engagements to the younger generation of airline pilots.

1.0 out of 5 stars Pretty much trash January 13, 2014
Thought this might be an interesting read, turned out I was wrong. Otherwise interesting advice for somebody looking to land on the set of a reality television show, but coming from a very little known individual who made no real lasting impact on the industry. The last nail in the coffin was his Twitter page(if you're in the market to be bombarded by conceit, go there). This guys 15 minutes were up 14 minutes ago. I was more satisfied by the thump in the trash can than the actual read through of this rhetoric.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the time or money December 10, 2013
This was a terrible how-to book. I could easily get on shows without any of this knowledge. I didn't even finish it on my e-reader. I wish I had the paperback so I could at least use it in my fireplace.

I found this book helpful because it lists out exactly which websites of casting companies and production companies to check to see when and where reality tv shows are casting. It also very clearly spells out in top 10 list formats exactly what you need to do to increase your chances to get cast on a show. I had no idea there were that many reality tv shows out there. Some of the things are common sense, but some are actually enlightening and I wouldn't have thought to do that. This book is great if you want tips on lifestyle type of reality shows (VH1, MTV, housewife of whatever, Bravo, jersey shore) kind of shows. It really teaches you how to develop your character. This book does not cover in much detail how to get on game shows, or on american idol (talent types of shows). I def learned plenty of useful tips and would HIGHLY recommend if you actually want to try out for a show, and would also generally recommend if you are just curious about the reality tv world and casting process.
