About the Author
Dr. Shimek started his path to becoming a marine invertebrate zoologist and ecologist in Great Falls, Montana in 1962. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. for his work done investigating marine soft sediment ecosystems. He has been published in many scientific publications as well as aquarium magazines. He has also been on the editorial review boards of several scientific journals. He is a world recognized authority in sacphopod mollusks and turrid gastropods. Dr. Shimek believes that only by increasing the knowledge base available to the average aquarist, can we hope to have a successful and humane hobby.
