This wonderful book has received many great reviews and rightfully so, I don't know what to say that other readers haven't already said, other than this is a GREAT book and these are my reasons for thinking so!

This book is written in a totally readable style and includes literally thousands of mind-blowing techniques to use on your man. The author, Lou Paget has spent the last 15 years as a sex educator so she knows what she's talking about. The book does not use vulgar terms to describe body parts and treats the whole sexual experience respectfully. How to Be a Great Lover runs the gambit on sexual experiences between a man and a woman. Every possible thing you could think of is included in the handy little book. Some of the chapters include: how to create a sensual environment, the art of kissing, safer sex, lubrication issues, hand jobs, oral sex, anal sex, actual intercourse, and sex toys. There are detailed drawings of everything you could possibly have questions about in this book. Personally, I found the drawings of all of the different ways to give a man a hand job very helpful. (Like they say: a picture is worth a thousand words). Another interesting thing about this book are the little bubbles included throughout the book. They are called "Secret from Lou's Archives" and include little known facts about whatever the chapter is about. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has sex, engages in foreplay or kissing, wants their sex life to be better, or anyone who is thinking about engaging in sexual activities. There are so many neat tricks in this book that your sex life will never get dull. Lou Paget's book HOW TO BE A GREAT LOVER is sure to put some pizazz back into your sex life.

This book is a fun, informative guide for women who want to master their bedroom skills. Paget provides a no-nonsense guide for women. Her advice is intended to empower you and give you confidence, enabling you to enjoy greater intimacy in the bedroom.

Let's face it, we all want to have a great sex life. Even if you THINK you know everything, you will learn a few new tricks from this book. What do men like and why? You will find out in this book. Without getting too explicit here, just let me say that after reading this book, you find out all you will ever need to know about how to truly please, excite, and satisfy your man.

And I've read more than a few of them. I've been in a couple of long-term relationships, and I really didn't think I had much to learn until I picked this up in the bookstore. One look at the instructions and drawings for "Ode to Bryan" (a technique for manual stimulation described in the book) and I was sold.

Lou Paget has written a book that is refreshingly straightforward, respectful of monogamy and relationships, unabashedly sensual, and undeniably specific and USEFUL. At the same time, it's not gimmicky. The problem I have with most sex manuals is the space they waste on recipes for sexual side dishes, hors d'oeuvres you may serve up once in a while. Lou's book is pure entree--meat and potatoes that you, and your partner, will enjoy every night. In other words, most sex manuals are an issue of "Martha Stewart Living"; this is "The Joy of Cooking."

You may be doubtful about buying a book like this. Maybe, like me, you figure that if you are good enough at communicating with your partner, you don't need it. Well, I was wrong. The fact is that men are not necessarily good at explaining what they like--either because they are shy about it or because they have never experienced great loving. If you think about it, the reverse is also true. Haven't you ever had a lover who introduced you to something new--an incredible, wonderful surprise that you now can't live without?

Whether you are experienced or inexperienced, need help in the bedroom or think you know it all, this book is for you. It's like sitting down with your three best straight girlfriends and/or gay male friends and having a no-holds-barred information-sharing session about what makes men tick (and explode).

I bought this book for my wife and WOW!!!!!. Now, we're having the best sex of our lives.....I read this book myself and thought it was EXPLICIT, SEDUCTIVE and absolutely marvelous. This book is well written and explains great TECHNIQUES and TRICKS, that will definately BLOW your mans mind.(It did mine). This is a great learning tool. My wife and I really enjoy making love now. No more stopping for a beer after work for me. I'm always rushing home to my SEXY and HORNY wife !!!!!! This is a must read for every woman. It takes you to the height of power over a man you never thought you had. It is informative and very forward. When you read this and it will be more than once, it is unbelieveable what can happen to your sex life. If your relationship is on the rocks and you want to spice it up, read this. You will see the difference in your man. You have the power after reading this and at the same time does wonders for you. Have read many other books and this is the "ONE" and only to have. It will be your bible. I have given it to other women and actually have laundermat seminars talking about this book. Your man will actually look forward to the attention from you and you will be rewarded. BUY IT NOW!!! As they say knowledge is power and "oh boy" it sure is.

I received this book on 8/14 and read it almost completely that night while my husband was away. On the evening of 8/15 I tried just two of the techniques (of the very many!) from "give him a hand" chapter and afterwards, in his words, it was mind-blowing. Which totally made this the best purchase EVER as the title includes the words, "techniques that will blow his mind." My husband didn't even know I had this book (tho I did confess to him afterwards and now he can't wait to try the other techniques!!)

I was skeptical at first as with any "here's how to" book, but this one truly has opened my eyes about a lot of things. I didn't know I could feel as confident as I could as a woman during love making.... I didn't know my man could be turned on with anal play... I didn't know I could turn him on with my hands the way I did.... or otherwise with techniques Lou has. I'm so happy with the book that I'm going to look for a website for her so I can tell her what a difference it's made to me - feeling more confident as a woman AND a lover. And I still have 95% of her suggestions to try out! My husband and I have a pretty exciting love life, but to have taken it to this level with just one reading and trying out just two of Lou's techniques....... well, you've got to get the book for yourself to see what I mean. I wasn't sure at first as I was reading it, but then when I put reading into reality on my husband......... that's all I needed to be convinced! I can't wait (and neither can he) for Round 2!! I really liked this book for content, instruction and the sense of humor throughout it. I am no spring chicken and consider myself a good lover but there were so many ideas new to me that I felt as if I were 16 again and trying things for just the first time. I recently became engaged and bought this book because I liked the other reviews and I wanted to keep my sex life with my partner interesting once we got into the day to day hum drum of married life.

I don't want to get explicit because this is a public forum but there were two exercises alone that would have made me purchase the book. Let's just say they are oral in nature and had I known how to do them years ago it would have been so much more fun and easier for me to make my partners happy. The author tries her best to give very detailed instructions and I find it best to get something to practice on, or to try and simulate the instruction so that you aren't trying to figure it out right at that romantic moment.

I told my partner that I had bought this book and he laughed and assured me that he was quite happy with me as I was. While flattering to hear I am glad I went ahead and read the book and so is he. I don't tell him the secrets I have picked up I just do them and watch for the excellent results. While everything hasn't thrilled the socks off of him, enough of the things have and it makes it worthwhile. At least nothing has caused him any discomfort and that's something too.

I also have to give this book kudos for giving me more self confidence to experiment out of my safe little haven of tricks. It's made me more aware of erogenous zones and it's made me more adventuresome. There's nothing like reading a section of the book and all the fun of planning how to implement..... he won't know what you are going to do to him next but he's going to enjoy your trying it. And remember ladies.... there's nothing like repeating the really fun stuff.

There are a multitude of books on sexual technique and sexuality but often many books are hype rather than help. I have found in reading any Lou Paget book to be both inspiring and helpful. Lou Paget is the author of several books on sexuality. She does concentrate on heterosexual sex but most all the information contained in her books can be utilized for alternative sexual lifestyles.

The Kama Lou Tra concentrates on how the author came to teach sexuality seminars and writing her books on sexual techniques. One of the many reasons I continue to buy and read books by Lou Paget is her writing style: clear, intelligent, and friendly advice. Her books are always very helpful and written very well. Never is it too complicated to follow or understand and always in a friendly round table tone.

The rest of the book gives explicit details on subjects of pure pleasure. I must comment that in the second chapter, Beyond the Bedroom is incredibly insightful for women. I really loved the fact that Lou took the time to not only tell about specific techniques in her book but asked men what they really thought of sex, women, and what they consider the most important attribute to have in a sexual partner. As a woman who loves sex I must say I have found that the statements made on page 29 paragraph one and two under "Bodily Bliss" are right on.

Beyond that all the other chapters are great and full of lots of great ideas and techniques. The one reason I bought and read this book is for chapter 6, Give the Man a Hand. I am very fond of incorporating hand techniques into my lovemaking. Let face it, good sex isn't just about getting to the ultimate finishing line but putting your whole body into the mutual adoration of each other and that just might mean you'll use your hands in the most pleasurable ways. My favorite of her many hand techniques is `Ode to Bryan'.

Of course, there are lots of other great things in this book that include positions, kissing, oral techniques, helpful hints, hand jobs, toys, and a whole chapter on lube (a whole chapter!). I loved the trivia/helpful information called Secrets from Lou's Archives sprinkled through out the book.

I've read nearly all the sex guides out there and I can tell you that this is by far the best. Not only is she funny, she is specific, and gives lots of good illustrations and directions that should make even the novice proficient. Her chapters on hand jobs and oral sex are exemplary. What I like even more is her emphasis that technique is not everything -- despite the fact that the book is devoted to techniques, she makes it clear the context and the connections necessary for amazing sex. if you only buy one how to book in your life, make this the one. I can't wait to buy the one for women so I can check up on her advice from a personal perspective. A great read!

This a really excellent book. It's not filled with corny and vague suggestions that we've heard everywhere else. Who can run feathers across their lover's butts anyways, without feeling stupid? No, this book gives practical advice and explicit techniques that any regular woman can do with confidence. The chapters on oral and manual tricks are particularly informative, giving detailed text descriptions along with easily understood line drawings. Highly recommended!
