5.0 out of 5 stars Grout Gratitude March 10, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
For anyone looking for a practical, simple, clear and knowledgeable guide to applying grout to already installed ceramic floor tile, this book by Tim (the Builder) Carter is the premiere source. I've been subscribed to his "Ask the Builder" newsletter for several months now and, as a renovations and construction man myself, I've found his knowledge and practical wisdom to be of help time and time again.

This book, "How to Grout Ceramic Floor Tile" is easy to read, uses easy-to-follow instruction and is accompanied by perfect photos as well as links to vividly clear and relevant videos. And it's actually FUN to read. The fact that he has provided the book free of cost attests to the man's generosity and true desire to help those of us who need it most.

I recommend this book and Tim's online newsletter to anyone who wishes to do things right. As his newsletter signature declares, "Don't forget - Do it right, not over." Thanks Tim Carter for your knowledge, experience, wisdom and generosity.

5.0 out of 5 stars Grouting Made Easy March 13, 2012
By Gary
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is such a great resource to have all this know-how information in one place so you don't have to search the internet and try and piece things together. One of the best things about this ebook is that Tim tells you what will happen, or the consequences, if you do something incorrectly. Too many times instructional information just says "do it this way". There is nothing said about what the consequences are if you DON'T "do it this way." As a subscriber to Tim's newsletter, I have complete confidence in the information that he presents in this ebook. Yes, you can search the internet and find out grouting information, but do you really know how reliable the information is?

There have been some comments about Stain Solver mentioned in the book. To me, that is just good marketing for a great product. I have used Stain Solver for years and it is quite simply a GREAT PRODUCT.

Keep up the good work Tim. Looking forward to the next how-to ebook.

More About the Author

Howdy, I'm Tim Carter, a former full-time hands-on custom builder and remodeler. I'm also the founder of the syndicated newspaper column Ask the Builder and the award-winning website, AsktheBuilder.com.

My passion is home building, remodeling and home repairs. I'm also very passionate about my wife, my kids and my friends. I'm a master carpenter, master plumber, master roof cutter and love installing ceramic tile, marble and granite. As crazy as this sounds, I also love to install wallpaper. I find that very therapeutic.

About seventeen years ago a close friend of mine, Fuzzy, passed away very suddenly. He was the president of the top poured concrete foundation company in Cincinnati, OH when I was building. Fuzzy knew more about poured concrete foundations probably than all the other foundation people in Cincinnati combined.

Moments after I got the phone call about Fuzzy's passing, I started crying. Not only was I sad that I'd not see him again, but I was mourning the loss of all of the knowledge in his head. He'd never taken the time to write down one thing. All of us in the building trades would have to re-invent the wheel. We'd have to grope around trying to figure out what he knew.

That day I vowed I would not let that happen to me. I wanted to pass on my building knowledge to my kids and to you so that you wouldn't have to guess. You wouldn't have to experiment.

I wanted you to Do it Right, Not Over.

That's become my motto, and I hope it becomes my legacy.

Please feel free to contact me via my AsktheBuilder.com website. Subscribe to my newsletter. I do fan meet ups all over the United States and announce the dates and locations in my Free Newsletter.

I'd love to know more about you and how I can help you succeed with all your home improvement projects.
