Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

How To Be Happy, Successful, and Rich is a book that is refreshing in its concept. Reginald V. Johnson - a dynamic keynote speaker/author, researched over five hundred books, interviewed over fifty thousand individuals, and culled over thirty years experience from, in his words: "The Street Academy" and "The School of Hard Knocks" into a fast-paced, entertaining book.

He offers twenty one easy-to-follow guides. It is a must read for anyone looking to improve socially, professionally, and financially. Mr. Johnson eloquently states what most people take for granted in their lives with their loved ones or work environment. His personal anecdotes are stimulating, entertaining, and motivational. If you wish to be inspired, challenged, and filled with enthusiasm, this book delivers that and more.

From the Author

My present book, How To Be Happy, Successful and Rich, was written as a labor of love - and appreciation for the many people that have contributed to my success. It is my way of reciprocating the lessons I have learned and the blessings I have received. I have tried to do it honestly, creatively, and - when I could, humorously.

I first discovered the talents of Reggie Johnson in 1985 (Denver, Colorado) with his "How To Close More Customers" program (which helped our company put millions of dollars on the bottom line.) Years later I attended one of his seminars in Long Island, New York. Not only did I learn cutting edge management techniques; I found him to be an inspiring and motivational speaker. All in attendance left feeling we had witnessed a "Rock Star" (pardon the pun) in action!

A friend introduced me to his latest book, "How To Be Happy, Successful, And Rich". I was intrigued and excited to see how he had progressed since our last meeting. Needless to say, I was not disappointed. The book is written with slight "tongue in cheek". One would think that being happy, successful, and rich, are the same thing.

Mr. Johnson explains that some of the happiest people in the world are not rich and some of the richest people in the world are not happy. The same applies to being successful. I agree. Some examples could be Whitney Houston, Winona Ryder, Mike Tyson, and Sir Paul McCartney.

The book does a creditable job in defining the differences between all three areas. Most importantly, it shows how one can aspire and achieve each of them with some everyday common sense approaches. Be prepared for many surprises as it demonstrates most goals can be relative in nature.

My first criticism of "How To Be Happy, Successful And Rich" was the number of pages (eighty five), I wanted more. However, I have read books like "A Purpose Driven Life" and discovered after the first ten pages --the rest were repetitious. Other books like Tom Hopkins' How To Master the Art of Selling" would tell you the point it was going to make, make the point, and then tell you again the point made.

I expected less from this genre but was pleasantly surprised with its contents. Most books speak in their own language. "How To Be Happy, Successful & Rich" speaks in a language all can understand. Unlike most authors that talk to you, Reggie talks with you - which I found refreshing and unique. The books manages to be informative and fast paced at the same time. Implementation of its 21 guidelines should make anyone happy, successful & rich!

This book is very interesting. The Author seems to have great command of his profession and what it takes to establish sales along with clientel. The book is an easy read, at times is a little annectodal. I wish I could hear more detailed information regarding the world of business. That is my only negetive response to an otherwise outstanding book!! I would recommed this book to all of my friends!!

An amazing book that provided me with motivation to do things in a different way, particularly when my options were limited. It provided me with a lot of insight to start afresh in a new path, with confidence and hope. I found the author's insights meaningful and deep, in his measured, succinct, and purposeful writing. Definitely a book well worth thinking about, as you read it once, twice, or even three times. I would strongly recommend this book to anybody who aspires to be successful in life.
