Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review

We seldom realize the degree to which our success depends on how we react to failure. Roger Crawford, a speaker and business consultant who says the physical "inconveniences" he's lived with since birth have taught him to be flexible, argues that thinking resiliently is even more important than thinking positively in getting what we want out of life. While positive thinkers might tell themselves, "I feel happy," even when they don't, a resilient thinker would say, "Right now I feel lousy, but I have it in my power to be happy." Because that's not an attitude that comes naturally to many people, he offers a variety of tips on reframing our internal dialogue. While some of Crawford's advice will sound familiar to readers of achievement-oriented books, those who need a push to continue in the face of adversity will find it in How High Can You Bounce? --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

From Library Journal

Physically challenged at birth and told that he would never walk, Crawford went on to become a tennis champion and Olympic torch bearer. Now he lectures worldwide on resiliency in the face of crisis.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredibly Inspiring!, May 15, 2002
By A Customer
A book to read over and over. When I am feeling like my self esteem is gone or I am going through a difficult time, I pick up this book and read a chapter or two and get re-charged again. It makes you re-examine all the dreams you ever had and didn't act upon because you thought you weren't talented enough or someone else had discouraged you. After reading this book you will believe "I can really make this happen".

Mr. Crawford,Just finished reading your book, it is well thought out, well put together, well written, and filled with totally practical ideas-- your book is on the "must read" list at work since I can't stop raving about it.Among other things I am a professional stage magician-- I use my magic as a tool to inspire, motivate, and educate as well as entertain. I am also a trainer, speaker, and consultant--So it seems we have much in common!I wanted to say a personal thank you for the reminders in your book.Truly,W. Anthony

5.0 out of 5 stars What a great book, November 6, 2005
By
I love this book, I read it over and over, I cannot get enough of it. This book has taught me how to remain positive regardless of the situation. My new motivational word is now "Resilience". Whenever I am feeling stressed or facing a challenge, I think about what Roger Crawford says in the book and the experiences and examples of so many people given, and I feel better. Great book. I would love to meet him one of these days. I would urge you to recommend this book to anybody who is facing any type of challenge in his/her life.
THANKS!!
