Editorial Reviews

From the Author

Robin L. Olson hosted her first Cookie Exchange party in 1989.
Some of Robin's accomplishments include her personal website, Robin's Web (robinsweb.com, 1.5 million visitors a year) created in 1997, which is where her cookie exchange pages began.

Robin was the first to write about how to host the cookie exchange party on the internet, (robinsweb.com/cookies) and she shared her original "Rules of the Cookie Exchange" (aka Cookie Exchange Rules, Cookie Swap Rules) and created the timelines from planning to party day.  Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and many of Robin's ideas for how to host the cookie exchange party have been widely adopted.

The cookie exchange party is definitely not an easy party to give, but Robin created the formula which makes the whole process smoother and she's worked out most of difficult parts that keep a one time cookie exchange party from becoming an annual tradition.

In 2007, Robin moved the content from robinsweb.com/cookies to: cookie-exchange.com. Cookie-Exchange.com is the comprehensive  go-to website - for all things "cookie exchange".  How-to's, party planning, timelines, CE "Rules", baking tips, cookie recipes, active message boards/CE Community, newsletters, CE invitations, party games, decorations, party food menus, and much more.

Robin has been featured in a variety of media, from the cover of Country Woman magazineto interviews in numerous magazines, newspapers (The New York Times, Washington Post, San Francisco Chronicle) and as National spokesperson for Reynolds®Parchment Baking Paper, which included a 25 day television and radio media tour across the US.

In October 2010, Robin's newest book, The Cookie Party Cookbook: The Ultimate Guide to Hosting a Cookie Exchange was published to rave reviews. (St. Martins Griffin, 352 pages)

Robin has been married since 1981 and has three children.  She lives in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
