This is an excellent book for someone who is getting interested in learning mycology. Covers mainly macroscopic aspects of the agaric mushroom and has a very informative section on stature types. There are a few good keys and some descriptions, but other generic field guides cover more species. Overall i consider it a must for the student of mycology.

This is the very first book that I recommend to everyone who might be serious about learning how to identify and describe macroscopic features of fungi. It is a indespensible and probably the best resource about the topic. And the affordable price, is much appreciated.

This is an excellent field guide for beginner or expert.
It was recommended to me by a friend who studied under David years ago and still uses this book as his field guide.
It explains turms used to follow the keys, very helpful for a novice but no book can take the place of experience so find someone to go huntinig with who knows his or her's stuff!
I would highly recommend it to anyone!

I should have researched more before I purchased the book. I am a beginer and not familiar with the scientific jargon. Great for someone who is knowledgeable already. I was trying to gain knowledge about mushrooms in my neighborhood. My bad. Just too deep and no
