5.0 out of 5 stars prescient writing about issues we now face....., July 20, 2010
This review is from: How Jefferson Made the Best of Bad Messes (Paperback)
A heart-warming treatise on "truth" as a process which Jefferson did not see as something to arrive at, but an ongoing inquiry. Also addresses the current issue of fear---those who "are the most scared shout the loudest and cover all doubt with braggadocio." Sees our human fear of uncertainty as leading to our current anti-intellectualism. " Ignorance more often begets self-confidence than does knowledge "(Darwin quote). Am not finished, but this is a breath of fresh air so far and highly recommend it for those extremely concerned about the deteriorating level of discourse in our country and support for outright lies.
