Book Description

If you want better work and income without spending a lot of time and money going back to school, you have several options.

The most important thing you need is the ability to learn new skills quickly!

Many businesses don’t care what or how many degrees someone has, they simply want to know how you will make or save them money.

This book will help you develop a personal learning strategy for mastering new, higher paying skills. This is not "get rich quick" garbage: it takes work and dedication. You need to discover how you learn best, what your own personal learning preferences are. You need to know what resources are "out there" for teaching yourself these higher paying skills. You need to know what some of the in-demand skills are and how to get them. This book will help you do all of that.

As you work through the lessons in this book, you will develop the ability to learn new job skills fast. You will create a "toolbox" to adapt to evolving job markets and technologies. While others worry about job security, you will feel confident and secure in your own marketability.

In just a few hours of reading, you will learn:
* Why and how you can retool for better income and career success
* Proven ways for you to learn faster and more effectively
* How you can make your study time much more profitable

Editorial Reviews

Review

"I loved your book, How to Learn Higher Paying Skills! You've condensed tons of practical content into an extremely usable guide for anyone who wants to either find a job or improve their skills and value on the job. I can't believe you can get so much value at such a good price." - Dr. Roger K. Allen, Executive Coach and Author, The Hero's Choice: Living from the Inside Out

"
Success comes to those who are willing to pay the price to learn. Notice I didn't say anything about expensive education, but the price to learn. Learning requires thinking, hard thinking. Learning requires an investment of oneself. This book goes through the details of how to effectively learn and turn that effort into a bigger paycheck. The principles in this book are essential for building a successful career in this ever-changing economy. I would recommend it to anyone who is committed to learning the right things the right way." - Ken Kaufman, CFO of the Year, Author of Impact Your Business

5.0 out of 5 stars Useful and Practical February 11, 2013

I stumbled across this book in the free bestt sellers list on my Kindle a couple of days ago. The title immediately caught my attention. However, I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical. I thought this book would be geared towards a six figure income and presigious lines of work. But I was very pleasantly surprised. Mr. Churchill talks about how better skills and more income means something different to everyone. For Mr. Churchill, it means finding a job that gave him more freedom, more opportunity to be creative, more recognition, and better relationships with co-workers. For me, it would be a job with a 40 hour workweek and higher pay that would enable me to afford things like my own apartment, a car, and some extras. For other people, it may mean 5K more a year or 50K a year. For some, it might mean starting your own business. Mr. Churchill discusses in detail how to figure out what skills you want to learn, how to identify (and fix) the problems in your current position and really makes you think. He teaches you how to ask the right questions and that gives you assistance in finding the answers. He gives you a step by step process for learning new skills on your own, online tutorials, finding a mentor, and even FREE online college courses. This is a book you will want to read with a highligher in hand. I would also recommend taking notes. There is a lot of great information in here. He gives the reader a ton of links and resources.

I have been frustrated in my career for a long time now. I'm unhappy and barely earn enough to pay my expenses, much less many extras. But I'm very gun-shy about going back to school. I can't afford to take time off of work and really don't want to incur even more student loan debt. I have to admit, before reading this book, I had almost given up hope.

This book is an excellent find. It is filled with realistic and practical information that serves as a guide to self-directed learning. What I enjoyed most about this book is the author's style of writing- clearly he is knowledgeable on the subject matter, which translates into a witty and inspirational read.

There have been times in my career where I have felt stagnant, unsatisfied, and frustrated. I wasn't sure how to organize my thoughts in order to create an action plan to get myself out of the career rut. This book served as personal guru that helped me get motivated and organized to take action. The content is clearly outlined which made it easy to follow and easy to understand. The examples listed throughout the chapters were relatable which helped put my circumstances into perspective. I was appreciative that the author included "challenges" throughout the chapters that initiated self-reflection and encouraged me to brainstorm, create lists, and action plans for my career. I can confidently say that I learned a great deal from this book and that it has proven useful in my career.

Give it a read. You will be glad you did.

This is the best e book I've read concerning learning/increasing skills to make yourself more marketable. I'm unemployed right now so it was the resource I needed to keep me encouraged. The author gives several suggestions on free or almost learning resources. Excellent resource especially given the poor economy now.

5.0 out of 5 stars A useful tool in our ever-changing world. January 19, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This program bridges the gab between education and the job market. It provides useful tools and a plan that helps those who want to change their working status. A college degree does not include an understanding of the real world job market. As our world changes so does our economy, job market, technology, and so on. With these constant changes we must be ever constant in educating ourselves in order to be competative and to qualify for the jobs we desire to reach our personal goals.
This book includes a plan with steps and resourses that are easy to understand. It helps you to take those degrees you earned in college and build on them to give you the competative edge you need in this job market.

I've met so many successful people who never even went to college. College is a great thing, but it doesn't guarantee success. This book gives a comprehensive review of what it really takes to develop better skills to make better money. The author is very real, and gives personal experiences to back up his advice. It will open your eyes to new possibilities. I now realize how many of us never really even try to maximize our talents and abilities. A great find for those feeling like they are stuck at a job they are unhappy with. Easy and enjoyable to read.
