Perspective,
By John Skvarla (Pinehurst,NC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: How to Line Up Your Fourth Putt (Spiral-bound)
Mr.Rusher's view of golf and his fundamental understanding of the game is a wonderfully refreshing statement of the humor and pespective we should maintain toward life itself. In a world where we constantantly take ourselves far too seriously, it's a great joy to take a moment with a book that makes you laugh out loud (even though you're by yourself)!Kudos to Bobby Rusher for a thoroughly entertaining trip around the golf course and for making us pause long enough to keep life in proper focus.

Laughter From a Cape Cod Beach,
By A Customer
This review is from: How to Line Up Your Fourth Putt (Paperback)
Publisher received this on 27 April: "I settled in to read your book on a cool day at a Cape Cod Beach. I flipped to Chapter 6, burst out laughing, and tipped over my water bottle. Who would have ever "thunk" to just "Pick Up" when you're in that much trouble. It kind of takes the edge off that 'I hate this game, I hate this game' mantra. This book is really terrific, especailly Chapter 28 which can be adapted to many other events...'remain totally silent until your spouse decides to speak to you.' Thank you for a hearty laugh...looking forward to the next book!"

A great companion book for the golf rookie.,
By Shankalot Woodworth (Rowayton, CT USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: How to Line Up Your Fourth Putt (Spiral-bound)
This is a great book for someone just getting back into golf. I especially liked chapter 32 explaining the fact that most golfers are bad golfers. It is very easy to become intimidated by the prowess claimed by most golfers and it becomes very tempting to remain in the bar rather than make a fool of yourself trying to play with these self proclaimed masters. This book will show you that most of the guys are no better than you and usually worse! It brings the enjoyment back to the amateur game and it makes for wonderful reading when you find yourself all alone on the green, your partners having marched on in disgust, and you face the dreaded fourth putt! Go Bobby!

One of the funniest and most insightful golf books written,
By
This review is from: How to Line Up Your Fourth Putt (Spiral-bound)
In addition to being a "laugh-out-loud" book, Mr. Rusher's insights into the true true psyche of the golfer should almost qualify it for the reading list of a Psychology 101 course at an ivy league school. This makes a great gift and is also great fun in a party environment as you recognize all your golfing friends and colleagues displayed on the pages.

This book is downright hysterical. I mean hysterical.,

I'm a golfer. Have been for 17 years. I like to think that I've heard them all...every ringer on the green, every pre-swing disrtactive noise, every caddie-bash...I was very wrong. This book is a Bible of material that I've incorporated in to my game! I actually have in my bag (I'm serious) and bring down the house at will. Read it, live it , love it! Bobby Rusher should go on tour!

Dumbfounded,
By JQA (Herndon, Virginia United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: How to Line Up Your Fourth Putt (Spiral-bound)
This "book" is inane. If there were negative stars I would give it a negative 5. How this got published I have no idea, except in someone's garage. The spiral binding was weird, but weirder was the fact that most of the pages contain no more than a dozen words on them and the pages are only printed on one side. This is a flip chart of not that funny comedy for a bad stand up act. Anyone who has golfed for any length of time has heard most if not all of these jokes on the links. Ball dropping trousers - how original. I'm not sure who all these people are who have submitted rave reviews as "letters to the publisher" but I suspect they are the editor and the authors extended family puffing up the ranking. Certainly no modestly intelligent reader could have enjoyed this book. It's just no possible. I doubt you will find this book in a bookstore because no one who sees it would buy it - only suckers online. I would try and sell this at a garage sale but in good faith I could't let someone buy it, and I doubt anyone would anyway having leafed through it. The fact this sells for "Used and New" for 1 cent says it all, except someone should give you the penny as a gift for taking it off them.

Aspirin (and golf) Gives Me Headaches,
By Peter Roberge (Southport, CT USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: How to Line Up Your Fourth Putt (Paperback)
How To Line Up Your Fourth Putt is the funniest book I have ever read. If you know nothing about this infuriating game of golf you will want to know more after reading Bobby Rusher's book. I have read the book several times and I laugh for different reasons each time (usually out loud!). You can be brain dead and still muster a smile at Mr. Rusher's humor. He truly knows how to scratch where the itch is! If you do not like golf and therefore cannot use his tips for golf, they are transferrable to parenting skills. Brilliant and never get tired of reading funny. Easy to palagerize too if you want to be seen as the funniest person in the grille room.

Best how to book ever!,
By Peter C. Roth (Atlanta, GA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: How to Line Up Your Fourth Putt (Spiral-bound)
When I first read this book I just knew that Mr. Rusher had been following my 40+ years of golf with great interest. This is a book written for all of us 22+ handicappers. We all thought we were alone in our pursuit of mastery of this game. Mr. Rusher shows us that we are the real leaders of this game. Its true backbone. We can take great pride in knowing that our golf game is more cost efficient than that of a scratch golfer (on a cost per stroke basis). I have played golf with Mr.Rusher and take delight in telling all that this is NOT a work of fiction. This is a true chronicle of how he plays the game, and the rules as he knows them. What does the the USGA know about mulligans? We all know that no matter how often you swing on the tee it only counts if it lands in the short grass. We know its not our fault that someone planted a tree where our ball lands. We know that those white stakes are there to help you line up where to look for your ball. If those neighbors don't want people walking (or riding) in their backyard, they shouldn't live on a golf course. Their pool is just a free drop water hazard. Mr. Rusher knows the game. Knows how it supposed to be played. Knows what the rules should be and really are. Now everyone can know. Read this book and you'll never worry about that fourth putt again. Mr. Rusher has set the standard for all golf instructional tomes. Mr. Pennick may be revered, but Mr. Rusher speaks to and for all of us, not to the few. |
