1.0 out of 5 stars This is the hook, avoid the line and sinker
This book, like the other non-fiction works by Hubbard, is intended to hook the reader into joining the Scientology cult. Like most attempts at intellectual entrapment, it contains some degree of truth, but is not a valid or honest attempt to offer help.

I would recommend that anyone looking to buy this book do research into the life of L Ron Hubbard and...

This review is from: How to Live though an Executive (Hardcover)
Everyone has problems at work, and the book The Problem of Work is wonderful to help everyone... but then there are the problems of being an Executive, a Manager, the person responsible for having all the big ideas to keep the company profitable... his(her) phone never stops, the mail piles up and everyone looks to them when things are falling apart. This book takes the problems of work to the next level, introducing the communicator. I am currently an MBA student and while I completely understand the need for companies to lean down their operations I can see the value of having a communications expert on staff to not only ensure that the tools of communication work (ie. email, telephone and video equipment, etc.) but that the execs have someone to filter their communications so that they are not being needlessly wordy or leaving out critical details. Someone who can handle incoming communications and consolidate it to maximize the efficiency of the manager, to write and send perfunctory replies as necessary to facilitate communications and to ensure that everything is properly documented, letters are copied and filed (both incoming and outgoing), email is stored safely, calls are recorded and summarized, calendars are updated and orders are passed to the appropriate people.

While it appears that this book is no longer in print, I would like to see Bridge Publications update this book and rerun the publication to allow information to flow.

This book is also a nice bridge to Dianetics 55! a manual on communications as it builds on the foundation of the problems of work and will allow the reader to maximize their understanding of communication and the ARC (Affinity, Reality & Communication) processes that will help in all walks of life.

Blessings and Light!

This book will help explain why an executive can be so overworked and show that it doesn't have to be that way. A business can run smoother with executives less harried and everyone is better off.

Finally, a practical and in-depth study of what it really takes to increase productivity, accomplish personal and business objectives, maintain successful relationships with clients, peers and staff -- while maintaining a perspective and sanity in today's "complicated" workplace. "How To Live Though An Executive," by L. Ron Hubbard, is one of the first realistic set of techniques and approaches to the actual problems an executive and business owner faces every day, both at home and in the workplace.
