This book is highly recommended for those who are seeking a how to have a fulfilling life with their man. Reading the first two pages and I immediately started to laugh, because what was written was and is so true. This book is not what you think it is about. A list of rules on how to pamper, feed, and love you man. This book is about how you as a woman need to learn how to deal with the type of person you are when seeking a man and learning how to undo some of those things. I am not giving anything away. You have to have an open mind. Because if you're seeking a bashing on black men- then you may just want to look some where else. This is an excellent read. I even bought, How to love a black woman for my husband and we are both reading. A good teaching tool for ALL BLACK WOMEN

Very good book to read. A woman can get a good glimpse at do's and dont's in relationships. Black men are special and need special attention. [A message to Black women; know your power to influence, positive change, in the lives of Black men but never abuse it. Be patient, and don't expect change over night.]

"It's a mystery, and at this moment, that's okay." Dr. Elmore teaches that loving a Black Man as a Black Woman requires patience, understanding, kindness, and unselfishness. (1Cor. 13:4) Dr. Elmore's guidance provided answers to questions that every Black Woman wants to know. I recommend this book not only to "the sisters" but to "the brothers" as well.

I am a white woman dating a black man. Although I do not usually read relationship advice books, I decided to purchase this book after reading some articles of Dr Ronn Elmore's. I was not disappointed. This book is filled with wonderful and practical advice to help you have healthy and fulfilling relationships. This is not a book about pleasing a man, it is very much focused on achieving a healthy balance in your relationship. The book is well-written with clear examples and suggestions for acting on the advice contained. Each piece of advice is given its own section so it's easy to refer back to the "Satisfaction Actions" that are pertinent to you. The advice will not only help you in your relationships with black men, some of it will be useful in other relationships and other areas of your life. I highly recommend this book.

Even if you already have a wonderful relationship this book can still do wonders. Not only do you gain insight to yourself you also find those little secrets to help you go above and beyond. You can make a mediocre relationship into the dream you have always wanted.

This book was so straight forward and informative that I wanted to devour it in one reading. But instead I took my time and put Dr. Elmore's practical advice to work. Although I am not presently in a relationship with a Black man, I believe that I will have a better understanding of how to give and get love without compromising myself or my future partner' wants and needs. I gained a tremendous amount of insight into my non-productive relationship patterns and am now on a search for ways "compromise on my practices, without compromising my principles". Thanks Dr. Elmore for such a wonderful book!!!!

WARNING: If you're not ready for the truth, you're not ready for this book. Couldn't put it down. Takes a very realistic look at love and how we treat it. Serious and lighthearted at the same time. Definitely tugs at the emotions and asks us to do some "self-examination". A must read for women everywhere.

Ronn Elmore's book is a great look at what a black man thinks it takes to truly love. Being a single black woman I found his advice extremely worthwhile. His book is the brother book to my other favorite author LaDawn Black - Stripped Bare: 10 Tested Truths for Landing the Very Best Black Man. Both books push you toward positive relationships.

This book is excellent for women who are on the brink of giving up on black men. Hang on and tie a new knot. After reading this book I realized I broke alot of relationship rules. Whether intimate, family or work relationships, they will all reap a positive harvest after planting this information in your life.

I bought this book several years ago and enjoyed it then. I was in my home library and decided to revisit it because it was such a good read. As with any book it could use updating on the examples but the advice is solid and covers a broad range of topics. I think any woman, young or old, will benefit from the concepts in the book. It's not a one sized fits all type of book with regards to advice on dating a black man as there are some situations that are unique to the black male experience and black culture in general but I will say that the book can probably help you in a relationship with any man. I recommend this to anyone who wants to know better and do better in their relationship with a black man!
