5.0 out of 5 stars It is the greatest by far!
I love it, now it is my favorite of Bryan's. I put the CD on repeat and listen to it all day long several times a week. I still cannot decide which is my favorite song, there is so many good ones. The amazon reviewer must not be a fan of the less traditional country music, but he doesn't have to bash it so badly. How do they chose reviewers anyway? They should have a...

1.0 out of 5 stars IF THIS IS WHAT FALLING IN LOVE DID TO BRYAN....
A reviewer below posted that change is good and the change was Bryan falling in love with Erika Page which is reflected on this CD. But if this is what falling in love did to Bryan White....then there must have been trouble in paradise. The CD comes nowhere near the quality of his first three CDs. There was an ethereal, vulnerability to Bryan White's music in those...

I still cannot decide which is my favorite song, there is so many good ones. The amazon reviewer must not be a fan of the less traditional country music, but he doesn't have to bash it so badly. How do they chose reviewers anyway? They should have a broad spectum of music they like, and even though they may not like that genre, they don't have to run it into the ground. Bryan's music is great, and he puts a lot into it. He sings so well, and picks such wonderful songs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Album!, November 10, 1999
This review is from: How Lucky I Am (Audio CD)
`I love this album as I love all of Bryan Whites Music. Thanks again Bryan for another terrific Album. I also want to say to whoever the jerk is who keeps signing all of his reviews A Music Lover and then goes on to mention some Robbie Fulks in every review: GET A LIFE! you write the same thing under every review and send them 2 or 3 times under various names. I saw you listed under LeAnn Rimes reviews too.

But if this is what falling in love did to Bryan White....then there must have been trouble in paradise. The CD comes nowhere near the quality of his first three CDs. There was an ethereal, vulnerability to Bryan White's music in those first ones. This one contains some good lyrics but is hampered by terrible production values. The melodies of the songs (the thing that attracts me most to a song)are really terrible. It is such a shame because he lost his recording contract after this debacle was released and he seems to have dropped out of the picture. What a waste because Bryan White is a good hearted, talented young man.

5.0 out of 5 stars He's still awesome!, December 12, 1999

This CD is a heartfelt ballad to his fiancee. There are alot of good slow songs, and a few fast ones. However, they all give alot of meaning to the word love. Thanks Brian, for making your best CD yet!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great album that showcases ALL of Bryan's talents., October 10, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: How Lucky I Am (Audio CD)
I had been anticipating this CD forever and it was well worth the wait!! This album showcases Bryan's talent as a singer, a producer, a writer, and a musician. All of the songs show true emotion. I imagine that this CD was inspired by Bryan's fiancee. Every song tells a story about or relating to love. It is not your traditional country album so if that's what you're into then I guess this is not for you. I would reccomend this to anybody who likes fun, catchy, good pop/country music.

5.0 out of 5 stars His best album yet - unbelivable talent on display!!, September 24, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: How Lucky I Am (Audio CD)
Being an owner of all 4 of Bryan White's albums, it goes without saying that I love his music. His vocal talent is amazing and the uniqueness of his songs is refreshing. He and his writers/arrangers have the ability to begin with a great song and turn it into an unbelivable song. This album has the usual beautiful ballads that we have come to expect from Bryan White and mixes these ballads well with the other more upbeat tracks. If you liked his other albums, you will absolutely love this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Effort, August 26, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: How Lucky I Am (Audio CD)
Having just read the review posted by our hosts at Amazon.com, I continue with my mystification as to how reviewers are selected. I have been listening to this album continuously since I purchased it on Tuesday and have found it to be a solid effort in the pop country genre -- strong vocals, great hooks, fun arrangements -- a complete and satisfying package. And therein lies the point. If you are not a fan of this particular style of music, which I suspect Amazon's reviewer is not and most country "purists" certainly are not, you probably will not like this album. But if you enjoy music that makes you smile, tap your toes, want to sing along and just generally feel good about being alive then this is the one for you. This is a collection of primarily love songs and whoever Bryan had in mind while recording many of the songs, she certainly has the devotion of this young man because he sings every note like he means it. If you liked Bryan's last CD "The Right Place," then stop reading this review and order this CD. You will be extremely pleased with your purchase.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good effort, but could be better., August 26, 1999

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: How Lucky I Am (Audio CD)
With his fourth studio album, White displays a little more of his soulful side on songs like "Shari Ann"; proves what a romatic he is with the ballad "You'll Always Be Loved (By Me)" (a song dedicated to his girlfriend, the beautiful Erika Page of One Life To Live); and continues to turn out fun made-for-radio country/pop hits (like the always great "Love is the Right Place") with such gems as "Love Happens Just Like That" and "How Lucky I Am," both of which were co-penned by master songsmith Annie Robuff (half of the talent behind Claudia Church's "What's the Matter With You Baby?" and Faith Hill's "This Kiss"). However, "How Lucky I Am" seems to lack some of the sparkle that made his third album, "The Right Place," what it was: a strong effort with each song ripe with hit potential. That's not to say that what "How Lucky I Am" offers is bad, in fact, it's quite good. But considering the great musician White is known to be, album number four seems quite lackluster, indeed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Change is Good!, December 6, 2000

I've been a Bryan White fan for a long time. I've even gotten to meet him in person. This album is very different from many of his other albums, but change is good. He's got a new beat and a sundry outlook on life. Much of this change is due to his relationship with (now wife) Erika Page. It's amazing how positive the effects of love are in a person's life. Way to go Bryan! I hope to see another album like this one very soon.

2.0 out of 5 stars Bryan Can Do MUCH Better!, July 20, 2000
By
Veda Daniel (Indpls, IN USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: How Lucky I Am (Audio CD)
I've been a die-hard fan of Bryan's for about four years, but "How Lucky I Am" is the first (and only, hopefully) album that has not lived up to the high expectations that I have of Bryan's music. I thought that the majority of the songs were pretty lame and lacked depth and soul. With the exception of "Two In A Million" and "Everywhere I Turn",I can easily let my copy collect dust. Bryan can do better and he knows it! Bryan needs to go back to playing COUNTRY music...not that sell-out, country-flavored pop thats run so rampant on country radio nowadays! Will the REAL Bryan please come back!
