Hard to believe anything other than luck and maybe fate, never mind a book, can make someone fall in love with you, but oddly enough, Leil Lowndes seems to offer the advice that can do just that in How to Make Anyone Fall in Love with You. The sensation of falling in love comes from a chemical secreted by the nervous system, phenylethylamine (or PEA, as Lowndes calls it, as in "Scientists tell us only PEA-brained people fall in Love"), and the trick is to trigger the manufacture of PEA in your potential love partner, giving him or her the sensation of being in love. Lowndes offers 85 techniques for "Hunters and Huntresses" to capture their "Quarry." Much of what the book offers is common sense--the power of eye contact and compliments--but it's presented in a new way and with such detail that it seems that it can't help but work.

Following some of her advice will have you treading that fine line between nice and obsequious, and at times, this book may sound offensive to some, advising the reader to play what may sound like games. Lowndes is aware of this, and she offers some caveats, but still it is hard to get past advice such as, "Show him you're smart, but remember--not too smart" or "Watch your Quarry's reactions to outside stimuli, then show the same emotions." In all fairness, Lowndes doesn't play favorites: her advice to men and women can be equally appalling. Yet, the relaxed style of this book, presenting solid wisdom with a bit of scientific support, makes this book appealing, and, who knows, maybe it will make you more appealing, too! --Jenny Brown --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

Back to books. IMHO, these first two books are fabulous and practically all readers will get a lot out of them.

This book helps you become a confident and charismatic communicator in both social and business relationships. The techniques unique. You won't find them anywhere else, and they are easy to learn. So please don't make a mistake and buy both.

HOW TO INSTANTLY CONNECT WITH ANYONE (96 All-New Little Tricks for Big Success in Relationships)
This book similar to HOW TO TALK TO ANYONE but with 96 more completely different techniques for creating and maintaining relationships. Please read the rave Amazon reviews to see how both books have helped others. Just like "How to Talk to Anyone," there is a shaded box at the end of each chapter summarizing the technique. (I like to call them "Little Tricks.")

UPDATING (How to Date Out of Your League)
Thus is a dumb superficial book which I wrote when I was going through a tough period in my life. Don't buy it. You'd be wasting your money.

HOW TO BE A PEOPLE MAGNET (Finding Friends and Keeping Them for Life)
This book is OK but readers over 25 may find this book a bit too basic. However it is helpful for younger readers because it covers some of the fundamental skills for making friends.

HOW TO MAKE ANYONE FALL IN LOVE WITH YOU (85 Scientifically Proven Ways)
If you're looking for love, this one is great. The title says it all! You won't find any touchie-feelie stuff here. Each of the unusual 85 techniques is based on solid research with the studies referenced in the appendix. Some are subtle. Some are outrageous. But the bottom line is, they all work - if you follow them correctly.

GOOD-BYE TO SHY (85 ShyBusters that Work!)
This fine book comes straight from heart. I wrote this one because I understand so well the nightmare that Shy people go through. I was painfully timid as a teen. In fact my "Social Anxiety Disorder" is what made me dedicate my life to helping others become better communicators. In this book, I give you 85 "ShyBusters," many of which cured my own shyness, and many based on the latest research. Hundreds of readers have written telling me that the book "cured" their shyness. And countless others who aren't shy have told me how the book boosted their confidence to greater levels.

HOW TO TALK TO ANYBODY ABOUT ANYTHING (Breaking the Ice with Everyone from Accountants to Zen Buddhists)
I feel bad because the title is completely misleading. It sounds like it's communicating "techniques" similar to those in "How to Talk to Anyone" and "Instantly Connect." No, the book is just opening questions to ask people in a 100 different jobs and hobbies to make you sound like an insider and get good conversations going. It's useful for, say, salespeople or dentists who want to establish rapport with a wide variety of clients. Because of the confusion, I've taken the book off my website. If you're looking for techniques to become a better communicator, read the first two books in this list instead.

OK, dude, this one's for you. Do you know that 97.6% of men in the world don't pick up on a woman's signals? They can't tell if a woman likes them or not? Yet, to us females, it's so obvious! Since pictures are worth a thousand words, I had 4 of my girlfriends, 3 of them top models, demonstrate the expressions and moves for you. When you learn to recognize them, you'll never strike out again. Why? Because, even before you make the first move, you'll know whether she likes you or not. Women, since men are so clueless, you can learn a lot from this book too. Just exaggerate each signal in the photos 10 times and guys MAY pick up on it!)

I had read a few books about courtship or heterogenous love, but not one solely on making love or having sex. I dont mean this book belongs to the later group. However, on top of the useful but common techniques (separate for hunter and hunteress), the last few chapters devoted to making love and having sex really makes it outstanding above the rest. The table which the author used to tell the contrast (and thus differences on what men and women think about good sex) between female porn and male porn is hilarious but true (to the detriment of my self esteem). However, the most important message for me rests on the author's suggestion to read romance novels published by Harlequin. The few pages 247-251 (that 5 pages worth the price of the whole book) of a partial story the author used to elaborate (in a choregraphy format) the perfect setup to turn on a woman and drive her crazy really brought me to a level far beyond my previous reach. I tried it the day after I completed this book and the effect was so amazing.

In short, a must read. I am sure that this book will open a new horizon for many "common male" like me.

p.s. In order to avoid any bad impression that I or the book is sheerly sex related, below please find some of my favorite techniques mentioned in the book.

No. 33 Employ Empathizers: Dust your discussion with phrases like "I see what you mean." "Yes, you were right." "I can related to that," and the all time favorite, "I understand."

No. 59 "How do you feel about that?": Whatever she is discussing, simply ask that. Go ahead, force yourself.

No. 65 "Tell me about it.": Beg her to tell you about it. Then listen - like a woman listens. It makes you a more loving man in your Quarry's eyes.

When I broke up with my girlfriend, I decided I was going to do things differently; first, I would spot warning signs earlier and second, I would be conscious of my own shortcomings which needed work. So, rather than be the typical guy who never tries to get advice, I decided to read several books with varying opinions.

This is an interesting book on what works w/ men and women towards attraction. While it has good points, it doesn't go into a ton of details but it's a good basic starter on understanding attraction.

HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:

(1) How anyone can make themselves attractive;

(2) Why playing hard to get can work, but only up to a certain point;

(3) How to use your body language to turn the opposite sex on;

(4) Why criticizing men is really bad;

(5) How a woman can charm a man with her fantasy disclosures;

(6) how a man increases his chances with women

And much more!

But, remember, a lot of this is basic research material. If you want something more involved, try HOW TO SUCCEED WITH WOMEN or R. Don Steele's books.

Beautiful mastery of the english language, chock-ful ofinterpersonal communications techniques and spicy paragraphs in theright places. I lack an extra thumb to give it three thumbs up. The methods I learned are certainly worthwile and easy to digest. Bite sized. The only problem with the material is that I see it as relying on endless mind games. Not good for people like me who get lazy. To supplement this book, I'd recommend two outstanding works that can give you extremely long term results: Ph.D of Persuasion and Magic of Rapport. These three books can make anyone unstoppable. "How to Make Anyone Fall in Love With You" teaches how to get you that magnetic first impression. The other two books teaches you how to keep that first impression forever. Great combos, don't you think? END
