If you are thinking about writing an ebook, in the process of doing so or have already written your book, you will benefit from the ideas and suggestions provide by Jason Matthews in his book "How to Make, Market and Sell Ebooks - All for FREE". I am the author of three ebooks, with at least one more planned for the near future. Before reading Matthews' book, I knew that I didn't know everything there was to know about ebooks, but I was surprised by how much I didn't know. For example, if you want your ebook available on all of the formats .pdf, .epub, .mobi, .txt, .lrf, .rtf, and .pdb, you need to keep things simple avoiding complicated or fancy formatting - don't use or refer to page numbers as e-readers are not like books in that they don't have page numbers.

Matthews begins by describing how he attempted to promote his books in the past by throwing some money at it and waiting for the returns to roll in. As with most authors, he found that this is not the path to riches but rather to rags. He had to find a different way.

His approach is to invest in "sweat equity" and to take advantage of the free or low cost tools and resources available on the internet.

Major chapters include: Social Media; Creating Your Blog Site; Cover Design; Formatting and Uploading for Smashwords, Amazon and other Retailers; Formatting for Your Sites, Making Your own Conversions; Creating Your Website; SEO (Search Engine Optimization); Preparing Your Website for Ebook Sales; Selling Your Ebook from Your Websites; PR (Public Relations).

In the vast majority of cases, Matthews provides sufficient information and detail for you to implement his approach. In the few instances where the implementation is more complicated, he provides an overview and then directs you to an on-line reference for more detail.

Certainly a book worth reading.

I recently purchased Jason's e-book "How to Make, Market & Sell e-books", and wanted to share my thoughts. I have been researching the idea of creating and publishing my own sales & marketing books. I'm amazed that I ran across Jason's book... it was full of valuable information that will help any person who is interested in creating, publishing & marketing their own book.

Jason's book is easy to read, and has step by step directions regarding the creation and publishing of your own e-book. His book will literally save you thousands of dollars of potentially wasted time and costs incurred trying to self-publish your own material.

The book is full of easy to implement methods for creating websites, blogs, and includes easy methods to establish a network of potential readers/buyers!

If you are interested in writing & publishing your own books, I suggest you buy Jason's book first. It will certainly help you, and investment is very fair compared to the information he provides.

"Jason Matthews has spent a lot of money on a lot of marketing baloney.
After vowing to take an Ebook from start to finish and spend NO MONEY,
Jason learned every free trick on the internet, and lists them all. The free information contained in this book saved me hundreds of dollars, and more importantly, hundreds of hours of my time. It is the real deal. If you have ever said "If it's free, it's for me. " You should own this book.

I was initially a bit skeptical about this book. There are just so many redundant books out there that don't reveal anything new. Also, I thought that I was aware of everything there was to know about marketing ebooks. So why spend even a few bucks on Jason Matthew's book? But, the methods in his book really do work. I got immediate results the next day. The chapters on
Social Media; Creating Your Blog Site; Cover Design; Formatting and Uploading for Smashwords, Amazon and other Retailers;
were all very helpful.

You can actually promote your ebook for free these days. But, I do suggest that you invest a little money into book reviews and strategic marketing. You can get a fairly inexpensive book review at goodbookstoday.com.

I know goodreads.com has a new ppc program. You can advertise your book for as little as $5.00 on goodreads.com So first use the free methods in Jason Matthew's "How to Make, Market and Sell Ebooks - All for Free" and then spend whatever you can afford on book reviews at goodbookstoday.com and targeted online marketing at goodreads.com

A lot of research must have gone into the preparation of these 57 pages,
brimming with useful information. It is a comprehensive read for both, the
novice who is toying with the idea of creating or marketing an ebook and the
more advanced reader who has already done some research himself. As I'm at
the cusp of publishing a novel myself, it fell in my hands (onto
my laptop) at the right time.
It deals with every aspect of making and marketing a book, from its beginnings in whatever format you created it to its end result in the appropriate format, i.e. different sites that deal with ebooks (for sale or for free) have different requirements.
A big part of the book deals with Social Networking Sites and related
issues as that's likely where you are going to post information about your
upcoming book or the one you have just published.
As a newbie on the given exemplary sites - social media- (Facebook,
Twitter,Linked-in) etc, I found the concise description of how they work and how
you can make them work for you helpful. The author injects interesting comments that turned out to be useful, e.g. comment on Twitter and their number of
followers.
The info on Yahoo Answers and Amazon I had to put to the test
immediately, which sent me of on a tangent of hands-on testing.This proved
successfully and satisfying immediately. ( I answered questions posted on
Yahoo Answers on Dating and Relationship and was voted Best Answer!Congrats!
at the first attempt. It showed me a hitherto unexplored way of how to
establish my credentials as dating guru. (Aha! Yes,my book is on dating).
I loved the author's tip about Google Alerts. They provided material for 3 postings on the first day.
