I saw a review of this CD online and it sounded like it was something I would be interested in. I was most intrigued by the reviewer calling it "vector rock". Anyway, I went to their site to hear it. Well... yes, this is what you would call "vector rock". And it's amazing. Grey Does Matter are at the cutting edge of an inadvertent indie rock movement (which includes Metric) that is part 80's synth, part punk, part emo, part 70's pop. I hope more bands come out sounding like this. It's a quiet revolution in the making.

Let me add to the chorus of cheers here. This is a great CD.

The beauty of this CD is that the music and lyrics seem so simple, yet are perfect. It's so rare when bands pull this off that of course, when one does, the resulting effort remains largely unnoticed. It's full of power pop guitar hooks and keyboard work, and the lyrics are sort of goofy in a sophisticated sort of way. The songs are timeless, and wouldn't seem out of place from any era since, well maybe 1975. Got that? Well maybe not, so get this CD and you'll know what I'm talking about.

power pop bands can be really lame on the lyrics so what really drove this record home for me was that the lyrics were smart.

a totally sound investment for your cash, all of these songs are strong and smart and will fester in your brain for weeks. the melodies are infectious and the songs hooky. i'm not crazy about the one slow song, but hey, i'm not a sappy guy.

this cd is in heavy rotation on my ipod and i look forward to more from GDM.

ok, i know that sounds insane, but ever since i popped this record in my cd player it has not come out. now, don't get me wrong, there are some great records out right now, but if you are a sucker for melody and pop sensibility, then this record is for you. this band gets compared to weezer and fountains of wayne a lot and those comparisons are true on many of this record's tracks, but there is also some punk rock inspired stuff and a nice slower song. anyhoo, i heard this on college radio and if these guys put out a second record and it's half as good as this one... well, it'll be a shame if they don't make a million bucks and rule the airwaves. ok, i'm a fan. buy this new or used man.
