Born in the Caribbean and lived in Europe for 8 years Tanya moved to Los Angeles at age 17. By 19 she discovered her love for the film industry, produced her first feature film and had a child. By 21 Tanya raised money and started her first movie production company which produced 7 movies in the first 2 years.
Ms. York has a proven track record of producing films on schedule and on budget that were highly profitable. She has produced and financed over 30 movies in her career all of which have been profitable. She has also distributed over a thousand films worldwide for DVD, television, and new media markets that were acquired from independent film makers.
The Hollywood Reporter named Tanya one of Hollywood's most influential women in Hollywood. She has graced the cover of Entrepreneur magazine in the young millionaires issue, completed numerous executive management programs including MIT's Sloan Business School's "Birthing of Giants" and Young Presidents Organization affiliated executive management program at Stanford University. Ms. York has authored the book "How to make money making movies" and is a sought after speaker at film festivals around the world. She is a licensed Kundalini Yoga teacher and private coach for other entrepreneurs, film makers and individuals.
When Tanya is not working she spends her time learning new things and traveling. She has a rigorous daily spiritual practice which includes yoga. She donates her time to nonprofits including spending a year on the suicide hotlines. She as a passion for life and is continually expanding.
