Silencers July 1, 1995
Because it does not produce a sonic "crack," the .45 is an ideal pistol for a silencer. Here is a nuts-and-bolts guide to making your own silencer for the Colt 1911 Government Model .45 and its clones. Includes construction details for all components, manufacturing tips that will save you time and effort, and plenty of clear illustrations. For academic study only.

4.0 out of 5 stars You need a lathe and a Tig welder to make this silencer., March 17, 2005
This review is from: How To Make A Silencer For A .45 (Silencers) (Paperback)
The author states this right up front. He has no control over what the editors put in the ad-blub. He says the same thing in the book on making a can for the Mini-14. He says to do your learning on a .22, and to read his .22 "can-book" FIRST. This man's designs work just as he says that they do. If you are not a machinist and a welder, of course you can't follow the instructions in this book. It would help to be an accomplished gunsmith, too.

5.0 out of 5 stars From the real "A Customer", September 10, 2008
This review is from: How To Make A Silencer For A .45 (Silencers) (Paperback)
The review below from "A Customer" was written by an IMPERSONATOR. Under that name I have reviewed ONLY the titles Practical Firearm Suppressors and Military Grade Suppressors. I have not read this title and cannot comment on it. Judging by the way my good fake name was used to trash it however it must be pretty damn good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Intersting book, December 30, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: How To Make A Silencer For A .45 (Silencers) (Paperback)
Having no interest in staying at Club Fed for 8 - 10, this was bought purely for the information and as a criminal science class study item. Its well written, informative and downright scary to know how easy these things can be made.
