4.0 out of 5 stars Work is too serious to be taken seriously!, January 30, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: How to Make Work Fun!: An Alphabet of Possibilities... (Hardcover)
I found this book by accident in our corporate library. It looked like someone with a sense of humour had slipped under our guard and was playing fifth columnist! Perusal of the iside front cover revealed that the book had been lent out once in the year we had had it. My confidence in the organisation was restored. David Firth provokes thought while poking fun at the conventional wisdoms of change management and workplace reeingineering. It is an alphebetical list of some strategies to liven up the workplace, the premise being that a happy workforce will be more productive (and therefore profitable) He tells us to tell jokes, leave graffiti in the washrooms, put cartoons on peoples' desks and generally break down the walls of the "serious" workplace. This is a book for all workplaces and those doomed to spend a third of their time in them. Work is necessary, often hard and the rewards may seem hidden, but having a little fun need not be anathema. 5.0 out of 5 stars Have a laugh at Work?, May 19, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: How to Make Work Fun!: An Alphabet of Possibilities... (Hardcover)
This book popped in to my radar a few years ago, entirely by accident. Since then, whenever work has gotten a little too serious, I pull it out, flick through and do something crazy.

Great fun!!
