5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Plan
How To Meet the Right Woman by Roger Ratcliff is a well written book that cuts to the meat of the dating sceen from a man's point of view. Roger breaks down the mystery into a concrete five step plan that is very sensible. How To Meet the Right Woman by Roger Ratcliff is a well written book that cuts to the meat of the dating sceen from a man's point of view. Roger breaks down the mystery into a concrete five step plan that is very sensible. Throughout the book he applies those steps to meet women in singles bars, at the beach, on the ski lift, and at the airport. Some special tips are given to single dads. A special mention to all guys out there is to take dance lessons. The rational behind it is very sound as why wouldn't a lady be attracted to a man who knows how to handle himself on the dance floor.

This book is very easy to read with some good charts that will help you get in touch with yourself and plan your approach better. Highly recommended on all levels.

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid executable strategies and ideas, July 12, 1998
By A Customer
This book was great as a 'kick in the butt' type motivator. It really has nothing fancy to offer, but rather details the benefits and just going up to and meeting women. Part of the problem, of course, is that if you can do that, you probably have no need for such a book.

Useful strategies were given and I got many new ideas from this one. It's nice, light, and worth a read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Meet anybody anywhere, September 29, 1999

It takes a lot of courage for the average guy to go up to a total attractive stranger in an non-social setting and try to get a date. The authors tell you why you have to do it and explains how to break this nerve-wracking process into 5 more manageable steps. The authors also give you a pep talk to work up your courage. If you want to become that super-confident guy, reading this book definitely puts you in the right direction and frame of mind.

... this is the type of book that your grandmother would gift you with - you know you've time-warped back to Pleasantville when terms such as "singles mixer", "square dancing" and suggestions of cruising Sunday mass are bandied about.

Authored by a couple of nooky-starved, pocket-protected professionals who decided to address their ineptitude with women with the same academic approach that earned them their engineering degrees, the tone is very polite, proper and oh-so-politically-correct (and with their female co-author chaperoning the proceedings as a third wheel, there's never any danger that our two fearless heroes might veer off into anything remotely risque).

Bland and totally inoffensive, it's middle-of-the-road stuff that should prove somewhat helpful for conservative gents seeking reserved women of virtue that Mother would approve of... of course, it's never going to be confused with more adventurous, no-pants-romance tactics favored by seasoned pick-up artists, but white-picket-fence types who enjoy lawn bowling and attending church socials will consider it cutting-edge.

2.0 out of 5 stars Do You Love Me! (Now that I can Dance...?), January 29, 2007

I have to dock this guide 2 stars just for its assertion that those who do the dancing, do the prancing. In other words, if you can't dance, or don't enjoy dancing, forget the whole thing?! Claustrophobic cultural elitism. (I didn't notice anything similar in the companion volume, "How to Meet the Right Man").
Docked one other star for being too mainstream. Other than these two bridge-outs, there's much good advice that mainly would assist those sincerely looking for bonafide relationships, but I feel it still isn't really aimed at everybody.

4.0 out of 5 stars An interesting book on strategies for meeting women, March 25, 2010

This was a very interesting book on how to meet women. Nowhere in the book does it mention sex before marriage or even talk about Sex so that was a positive. It was positive because it doesn't suggest that Sex before marriage is a good thing.

On Page 126 it talks about "there is one thing that you should never do, and that is take her number and then leave her while you hustle other women. That is defintely in bad taste, and could easily cost you your date with her." This is very good advice but shouldn't be necessary if you are a decent human being. Why would anyone do something so stupid like this? Then again I know way too many males and females that date multiple people at a time and do things very much like this.

On page 127 the guy talks about how he went for a bike ride and in 8 hours how he had 5 phone numbers that he didn't have before. That is pretty pathetic when you only need 1. This is the type of guy who is hustling multiple women at once. He should have gotten
1 phone number and set up a date with that lady. Then he should have gone out with her and if it went well then ask her out again and again until they either get married or it doesn't go well and then he goes looking for another woman until he finds the one he is going to marry forever. I think this guy is pathetic.

One problem with some suggestions in the book is that they are specifically giving you a few words to possibly say and a lot of the conversation in the book between men and women seems contrived, rehearsed and not of the moment and realistic. I never rehearse what I'm going to say. I just tell things like they are even if it's the brutal truth. Also one problem is that none of the conversations in the book seem to lead to marriage. They seem to lead to 1 date and then nothing.

One problem for me is that I wouldn't go to many of the places the books talks about going to meet women. I hate bars as I don't
drink alcohol at all. The beach and zoo are interesting ideas but I've never met any women at those places. Of course I wasn't really going there to meet women either as I was simply going there to explore nature.

Overall the book does talk about what the title claims it does when
it says How to Meet women. It gives you a lot of suggestions on where you can possibly go to meet women if you are having trouble finding them. Though I probably won't follow much advice in the book if any I did find it interesting in the places they mention to meet women and what you might say (though I will never let someone else determine for me what I should say to a woman). So I rate the book highly because it does fulfull what the book title says it's about in providing you information on where to meet women.

Sincerely,
Jon Beckmon

4.0 out of 5 stars A gold mine, February 28, 2005
This review is from: How To Meet The Right Woman: A Five-Step Strategy That Really Works (Paperback)
This book is a gold mine of information on dating and meeting women. At the very least, you'll have a fun, quick, entertaining and cheap read even if you're not successful with its techniques. I suspect most will expect success though. I've yet to try any of these things and we'll see if they work, but it's a book you still should pick up for reference. Though I am always leery of these types of books anyway, you can usually tell whether it's BS by its price to readability ratio. In other words, the more expensive and longer the book it is, it usually turns out to be hogwash and very poorly written. In the case of "How to Meet the Right Woman", it's relatively inexpensive, short but packed with well-written and articulate information.

To be honest I am not exactly god's gift to women. Sway back, bad teeth, flaky scalp, specs, you get the picture.
I am now dating a tall beautiful woman. I owe it all to Roger Ratcliff's book. He showed me all the moves and gave me the confidence to follow through. He is a genius. Ratcliff is an engineer and he must be a great one because he really solved my
problem.

I came across this book in my husbands lunch pail. Does this mean he is looking for another woman--what am I to do? I'm not sure the answer to that question is in this book. The five steps sure do sound good, but...my husband is married already! To me! I look much better than that woman on the cover anyways. Thank you Mister Ratclift--homewrecker!
