I had just finished all of Seasons 1 through 7 on Netflix and I didn't know what I was going to do to watch Season 8. It's not on Hulu or any other valid website, the DVD isn't released yet and probably won't be until the fall AFTER the new (and final) season starts. I couldn't bear to miss more and find a way to catch up later, so buying the instant video episodes on here was one of the best decisions I've made! Season 8 is hilarious, touching, and everything else good about this show. I highly recommend buying the instant vids if you need to find a quick way to watch Season 8!

It's still funny and worth the price. Love this series. How I Met Your Mother will go down as one of the funniest sitcoms of the last 20 years.

I find this season more tedious. I'm only watching it to finish the whole series. I used to love the earlier seasons. Not so much now.

*** Review Will Contain Spoilers ***

There were some major bumps in the road, but How I Met Your Mother finally got there. After eight seasons, they finally lived up to their title. Well, technically, Ted hasn't met her yet, but we can finally put a face to this highly anticipated character. We can finally picture the couple that gave this show its premise. Of course, there's a lot to be said about the closing moments of Season 8, but I'll save that for last.

This was a difficult season to grade, because the peaks and valleys were so steep that you didn't know whether the writers had completely lost their minds or were completely genius. Let me put it this way: I look at Season 8 as two halves separated by the hour long mid-season finale. The first half was clumsy, ridiculous and unfunny. The second half was clever, creative, vintage How I Met Your Mother. In December I was writing my eulogy for the show I love so much. And then something strange happened... it got good again. Really good. And I'm fully aware that this isn't a unanimous opinion; I've read the comments, I've heard the criticism. But as a long-time fan of this show, I thought the last 14 episodes of Season 8 were excellent television.

Standout episodes:

- "Splitsville" (ep. 8.06)- Robin and Nick's breakup certainly lacks originality, but Nick is just so hilariously dumb that it makes for a charming episode.
- "The Final Page, Pt. 1" (ep. 8.11)- As a fan of the show 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer', I was pleased to see Alyson Hannigan reunite with her old flame, Seth Green. The jinx storyline was genius; Neil Patrick Harris played it beautifully and it was hilarious.
- "The Final Page, Pt. 2" (ep. 8.12)- This was dramedy at its absolute finest.

This has more than a plot about Barney not wanting to give up his apartment "fortress." I was not expecting these various funny satires. They make fun of art society and the things rich people would buy. A small comedy of the wife/ mother spending more time on her career, leaving the husband (Marshal) feeling rejected. And then there's Woodworthy Manor. I'd just watch this show just for that plot.

I am the artistic one in the family. I still find humor in the show's satire towards art and the stereotype of art society. Kyle Maclachlan as "The Captain" is the rich guy who has hired Lily as his Art Consultant. I think The Captain is hilarious. His attitude is both snobby and ignorant. Lily changing her look from typical Lily to a contemporary art fan.

Woodworthy Manor is a comedy of Downton Abbey. We never see the show itself, but I liked the way Ted, Marshal and Lily were obsessed over the show. They even had tea, crumpets and other English dishes - dishware included. Ted would even pretend to have an English accent during Barney's open house. I watched one episode of Downton Abbey and might see more. But like Barney and Robin, I would have used the escape chute to leave quickly from being pressured to watching the show. I would like to see more of this satire of Woodworthy Manor.

I loved this show the most out of all the 100+ shows.

In my book this was an excellent series! In true fashion (for me) I bought the first season just to see if we'd like it. Guess the answer was yes because I went on to the buy the rest of the series. My wife and I loved it but we really like romantic comedy type things. I don't know if I'd really call this romantic comedy but lack another term for it. Like most sit-com's some episodes are better than others but it kept us engaged and we really enjoyed watching most of the episodes. This is one that I'll watch again! Sometimes I'll get to the end of a series and never watch it again. The true test, for me, is whether or not I'd watch it all over again and this one gets a "yes" answer. It's not as good as "Friends" which I can watch over and over again and still get a laugh but in my book it ranks as one of the better sit-com's I've come across and I watch a lot of sit-com's!

This show is starting to get a little long in the tooth, but the characters are still the same ones you love, the jokes are still pretty funny, and even though the creators said this was going to be an 8-season show (which it clearly won't be), you can start to get the impression that it's winding down. It will be interesting to see how the show is wrapped up. They've been dropping some fairly large hints, if you've been paying attention. Also, it's pretty nice being able to watch the shows back-to-back like this. Now just get season 9 so we can watch it end!
