Book Description

Organizing your home is essential to enjoying your home. You can live in an architectural masterpiece, but if you can’t see the floor, it is hard to appreciate it. How to Organize Your Life (At Home) takes you room-by-room through your house and shows you how to organize and enjoy your home again.

The first book in this series, How to Organize Your Life (Every Day), provided detailed steps for organizing your daily routine. This sequel helps you bring that kind of order to your home space. Both books are for people who want to live an organized life, but are not sure exactly where to start.

How to Organize Your Life (At Home) also includes tips for people who live in small spaces, have limited time, or have roommates. So whether you own a mansion or rent a room, this book can help you take your home from chaos to order.

The saying "a cluttered house leads to a cluttered mind" definitely holds true in my life, so I needed a guide to help me get started in organizing my home. This book did the trick in a concise and easy to follow manner. It lays out simple steps and tricks that you can put to use right away, room by room. It's a quick read that I would highly recommend to anyone looking to add a little organization in their home.

5.0 out of 5 stars Concise & Informative May 20, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a neat little book that will get you on your way to establishing organization in your home. It may not get into the 'nitty gritty', but if you've ever felt paralyzed, not knowing where to start when it comes to getting you home in order, I would highly recommend starting here.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Basic Tips You Can Use Today June 22, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
If you are in a hurry to get organized this book will help you get busy fast. It has tips for every room in the house and is a fairly short read. You can read it in a few hours at most. While there is a little humor here and there it is a fairly serious book. Really it is a room-by-room guide to organizing everything you can think of. It is filled with some of the most detailed advice I've ever read. Once you are done organizing there are also tips on how to keep things in their place.

While I agreed with most of the book I don't think getting a bed frame with drawers in it is a good idea. I always bump my toes on beds like that and don't like them at all. It would be much better to follow the advice about under bed storage bins that can be pushed out of the way of sensitive toes. Also the tip about getting rid of the microwave won't work for most people. Heating up frozen food on the stovetop is a real hassle. I'd rather have less counter space.

Otherwise there is lots of useful advice.

5.0 out of 5 stars HOW TO ORGANIZE YOUR LIFE (AT HOME) May 16, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
HOW TO ORGANIZE YOUR LIFE (AT HOME) is a great book. The writing and instructions are actually clear and concise. It covers all rooms in the home or the apartment. This book also includes helpful hints on how to de-clutter the basement, the garage, as well as, the car. The book begins with very easy steps to get started. HOW TO ORGANIZE YOUR LIFE (AT HOME) begins with the bedroom and moves throughout the house ending with the basement and the garage. The last part of the book ends with "Staying Organized". There are also many tips if you have roommates.

Thank you HigherRead for making Organizing so easy.

3.0 out of 5 stars Organize August 11, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book would be most helpful for young people just starting out. It gives a room by room practical map to creating a livable space. I was already aware of most of the methods and tips. I think Peter Walsh says it better.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great info. Very short. Lots of good ideas. April 19, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Good practical advice specific to various rooms of the house. After reading it I felt proud of myself that I was already doing most of these things. I wanted more mental advice...like "Think this way about your stuff". There was several instance of that kind of advice, but I wanted more.
Highly recommend if you're new to a space and/or roommates. He's got very good advice for sharing spaces with others.

Great starter read to get organized. There is no magic to organizing, it takes work and maintenance to keep on top of it.

Like I said, I just started reading it. The only thing that is kind of difficult are the margins - they are all over the place. Content seems good though.
