.
This book is a little more advanced then the book that came with your 'scope. It covers all the basics and gets a into a few advanced tricks-of-the-trade.

If you are new to using Oscilloscopes, then this is a great place to start learning what they are and how to use them.

If you are an experienced bench technician, this is a good refresher if you need to re-awaken dormant skills.

A little dated but not bad. The discussion about 'scope probes make the book worth having.

This book is a reprint of the original book written in 1989. It has not been updated and details use of older Cathode Ray Tube scopes.
Its a tiny book smaller then a paperback, and less then a half inch thick.
The book feels and looks very out dated, but the technical info about scopes is through, and detailed.
The images are very primative ilustrations of a crude scope screen, with not one picture of the control panel of a scope in the book. There are no actual photographs in this book.
It does the job, but, just feels like it was written and published in the sixties, with just crude illustrations.
It has no info on testing integrated circuits or modern circuits, or SMD DEVICES.
Looks like it was found in someone attic.
It is a britsh publication.
It needs a complete modern overhaul, and update.
Best for hobbyists, using thirty year old scopes.

This book is far too edited and out of date. It is also printed on cheap paper and only 1/4" thick. It is not worth the money to buy this book for anything. It fails to provide adequate instruction for the novice. The circuits and projects section has minimal information. There isn't any glossary of terms, so you had better have prior knowledge of electronics, along with the tools used for doing this sort of work. Otherwise, this book will not meet your expectations.
