1.0 out of 5 stars How To Be A Para Pro: A Comprehensive Training Manual for Pa
The concept of this book is a very good idea that being to train classroom support personnel to help autistic children. I'm a classroom teacher of autistic children and I attempted to use this book with my aides. After that experience, I can not recommend this book. The writing style is highly academic and very difficult for paraprofessionals to understand. A great...

This book explains different situations you WILL encounter working with special needs children and the classroom and beyond. It provides clear instructions on what to do and WHAT NOT TO DO in a variety of situations.

I give this book to teachers, aides and professionals who work with my kid as holiday or welcome to the team gifts. It is a good read and resources.

5.0 out of 5 stars A terrific book for parents, October 20, 2003

This review is from: How To Be A Para Pro : A Comprehensive Training Manual For Paraprofessionals (Paperback)
This book has a wealth of information. Even though the chapters are short, and because of that, very readable, they are jam packed with useful information. I especially liked the tremendous number of specific, useful strategies located in the tables within part 2. I wonder if the reviewer below read the same book I read because I found this VERY readable.

I found this book very helpful when working with children with autism. The way it is written makes it easy to read and well organized. The teacher I work with appreciated the book for the examples, suggestions and many reusable forms. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who works with children who have autism.

This is a must have book if you are a parent or educator of a child with autism. The book is broken into two parts with the first part being a great general overview of autism and related disabilities. Part 2 provides information about how to work with children who have autism. Unlike some of the other books I have purchased, this book is written in an engaging and easy to understand manner.

This review is from: How To Be A Para Pro : A Comprehensive Training Manual For Paraprofessionals (Paperback)
An excellent resource for teachers and para pro's alike. Provides great strategies, resources and guidelines to becoming an excellent paraprofessional working with children with autism but is also an excellent resource for para's working with any child with a disability. Great for Child Study Team members and teams working with children with disabilities.

I recommend this book to everyone. It is a very informative book for those who work with children with autism. It is easy to understand. Good ideas for those who haven't worked much with autistic children. I let a Special Ed. teacher read this. She said she is going to buy this book also.
