5.0 out of 5 stars The best book I've found for parents who want to be good partners in parenting, August 28, 2009

This review is from: How to Parent So Children Will Learn: Strategies for Raising Happy, Achieving Children (Paperback)
I am a wedding celebrant who provides premarital counseling for a dozen or so couples a year. Too many couples know how many kids they want and when they want them, but they haven't talked about what will happen once the kids arrive. I tell them to (1) watch Super Nanny and (2) buy How to Parent So Children Will Learn. Sylvia Rimm understands family power dynamics, how to manage a healthy balance of freedom and boundaries, and how parents can support each other in their parenting roles. Practical, loving, and wise, this book is one that parents should read and discuss together. Although it's not a book about parenting babies, it's the one I give as a welcome-baby present.
