From the Author

This book is a valuable guide that has taken me over a year to write. I've compiled my 15+ years of photography experience into a single main reference guide for the complete beginner through to those of you who are a little more advanced.

I've included lots of easy to find, quick reference points, with icons detailing -
*Flaming hot tips on a particular subject or technique;
*Technical explanations in an easy to understand way, to help you with the science and mechanics behind your camera;
*Tonnes of visual examples for every subject and technique using my own photography.

Enjoy How to Photograph Anything like a Pro, and all the other books in the series.

This is the second of Steve Rutherford books for me to enjoy. I am really impressed with the amount of information he has amassed into this volume. Just about any subject related to digital photography is addressed fully and interestingly! His organizational skills are really demonstrated. Steve is writing for all digital shooters, not just for Canon or Nikon. He uses images throughout to demonstrate concepts such as depth of field to show how "closing down" will yield more depth in the image. A picture of some cherries comes to mind shot at three different f/stops. The picture shows graphically how the finished image will look if you vary the f/stop. While this might be a heavy review for an old (71) timer like me the sheer volume of lucid writing and imagery will offer help to anyone wishing to learn about so many how to photography subjects. There is a glossary of terms that makes good use of words to clarify all the buzzwords in our industry that may tend to intimidate newbies! Steve really clears the smoke and allows one to understand the subject. My copy is on my Kindle reader and has already become a wonderful addition to my library! Steve is Australian and it is especially charming to me to see the use of terms indigenous to his land down under as he writes! Wonderful work...

Although many of the points can be garnered from the internet, it's convenient to have them together in a book. It also helps that it is written for the average person in a way that it is easily understood.
