Introduction: Has this little tragedy ever happened to you? You're walking down the street, minding your own business. Wondering how the hell you're going to meet the next payment on your car. And suddenly you spot a girl. Not just an ordinary girl, but someone you actually find yourself "running" to catch-up with. For an instant, you even consider grabbing her right there in the street. As you close-in on her, your heart starts to pound like a drum. You rack your brain. What can I say that will make her melt into a little pool of butter at my feet? How can I manage to hold her and bite her and hug her and plant kisses all over her wonderful, supple body? Your mind draws a blank. You don't know what to do. You worry, maybe she'll think my ears are too big. Maybe, God forbid, she'll notice my bald spot. You're terrified that if you do get up enough nerve to say something, it'll be silly. She'll ignore you. Or even worse, she'll tell you to get lost. So when you finally do catch-up with her, you don't say anything at all. You merely watch as she turns the corner and sashays out of your life forever. In the days and weeks to come you think of her. Often. More than you care to. And it drives you nuts. Why didn't you make contact with her? Why were you such a coward? If only there was something you could have said that would have made her take notice of you. Some magic little technique that would have gotten her to come with you. Talk with you. Well, the fact is there's more than one little magic technique for picking-up girls. There are literally thousands of them. And you'll find just about every one of them right here in this book...

5.0 out of 5 stars The best book ever written about approaching women., September 10, 1996
By A Customer
This review is from: How to Pick Up Girls: Discover Exactly How to Meet Beautiful Women. In Bars, Buses, Trains -- Even on the Street! The Fool Proof Guide to Meeting Women Without a Formal Introduction (Paperback)
Everything you ever wanted to know about meeting girls! 'How to Pick Up Girls' is a classic, and the best book ever, on approaching women. It reveals that the terrific girl standing in line at the bank, sitting at a table in a cafe, or lying at the beach will almost always be receptive to an honest and friendly advance. If she isn't, it could be for reasons that have nothing to do with you. Even if they do, the worst thing to do is let it disqualify you from this exciting and rewarding activity. There are plenty of other great girls who will appreciate your efforts, and be grateful to you for turning what might have been a dull time into a very special moment. This gem of a book is based on interviews with a wide variety of fabulous women, as well as Eric Weber's remarkable girl-meeting perceptions, observations, and strategies. A well written and enjoyable read, 'How to Pick Up Girls' has yet to have any other work on the subject come close. Definitely three thumbs up for this one! - review by Jason Evans

5.0 out of 5 stars This was the first real book on picking up women, April 14, 2007
This review is from: How to Pick Up Girls: Discover Exactly How to Meet Beautiful Women. In Bars, Buses, Trains -- Even on the Street! The Fool Proof Guide to Meeting Women Without a Formal Introduction (Paperback)

...or at least the first one I ever saw. I think I was eleven when I first saw the full page ad in the back of some magazine for this book. It was like "Pick Up Girls! Get dates, blah blah... but it was pure magic on me. I read that ad three or four times over the next week while scrounging up the money for the book (I think my copy was something like 15 bucks, but that was a long time ago).

I enjoyed that book then, and I am happy that I read it when I did. It was great common sense in a world where learning how to meet women casually is just not taught in schools. sure **now** we have a glut of books on how to meet women (I myself have been guilty of penning a few), and I would recommend that you read ALL of them, even though some are truly horrible. You see, you really need to see what works for you - after all, ALL that matters is that YOU get dates, right? I don't care if you read my books, or Eric's books, Mystery's books, Ross's books - just as long as you start getting what YOU NEED on a regular basis. Books are cheap. And they are a LOT cheaper than mistakes.

What I can barely remember about this book is that it was fun to read and exciting. The fact that Eric has sold over 2 MILLION copies is proof that this book can hold its own with the best of them. By the way, this book does not advocate degrading women and beating them down just so they will like you. There are more than enough books like that - and the first one (I believe the original, but I may be wrong) is F.J. Shark's How to Be the Jerk Women Love written waay back in the early 90's. The one copy on Amazon ($125 - very overpriced) has a new cover. Ross Jeffries may still sell Shark's book. But the bottom line is that THIS book is worth picking up - and using. It work, and a ,lot of what you read in other books CAME FROM THIS BOOK. That is what happens when you sell 2 million copies. Remember to keep reading everything you can get your hands on and try new things, but add this to your collection if you can find a reasonably priced copy, as it is truly a classic.

5.0 out of 5 stars a great prop!, November 28, 1998
This review is from: How to Pick Up Girls: Discover Exactly How to Meet Beautiful Women. In Bars, Buses, Trains -- Even on the Street! The Fool Proof Guide to Meeting Women Without a Formal Introduction (Paperback)
This book, though the lines are somewhat dated and absurd, makes a great prop and ice-breaker out and about in the community. Just pretend you're reading it on the bus so the title is visible, then smile slyly at the babe who's checking out the title from the opposite seat. If she smiles, it's up to you.
