Full disclosure: I won this Kindle book from the author in a drawing on a website I read. I do not know the author personally.

That being said, I really enjoyed the book. It has a lot of twists and turns, some really inventive characters and situations, and a world I would be interested to read more about. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys humorous fantasy like Peter David (Sir Apropos of Nothing) or Robert Asprin (Myth series, Phule's Company).

Thanks to Mr. Consell for a highly entertaining read just in time for my vacation!

Consell's cheeky style makes me smile, and his characters are full of little presents for those paying attention. A superfun read; a fantasy that would make a great anime series.

I loved this book. Good pacing, engaging characters (and strong female leads - gasp!!), and a very fun plot! Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a funny and well-written fantasy novel.

I happened to find this book when it was free and thought I would give it a try. As everyone has said, this is a fun book. The main characters are all very likeable in their own quirky ways. There is plenty of action, some funny twists and a story line flows along nicely. There is room left for a sequel, but everything ends in a way that leaves you satisfied.

This is a great book, done in a narrative and humourous style. If you are a fan of Terry Pratchett, Piers Anthony or any of the other whimsical fiction writers, you will love this book. I would also like to see it available in an audio version, so perhaps other readers can help me campaign for that...and help the author with suggestions for who would be best to voice it.

I was a bit skeptical and intrigued by the book's title, but I am so glad I erred on the side of curiosity. This book is a fantastic pleasure to read. Very well written, cheeky (as someone mentioned earlier)--the descriptions of the awkward characters are quite hilarious, with excellent pacing, just enough battles with magical and grotesque creatures, and a little sarcastic political and social commentary here and there to top it off. Consell has a vivid imagination, embodied by his characters and the mythical landscape. Kudos.

I enjoyed it, and there was an unexpected twist at the end that added a LOT of layers to the story. It was a fairly fast read.
