WONDERFUL and helpful book on potty training!, June 6, 2009
This review is from: How to Potty Train Your Monster (Hardcover)
I HIGHLY recommend this book for parents with young ones, both little boys AND girls who are learning how to use a potty! The book caught my attention when I saw it in a family magazine.
The book consists of ten steps that aid a parent on how to potty train a "monster".
The writing style is unique, funny and informative. While the book is meant to be read to little ones, it simultaneously serves as a guide to parents by giving them helpful tips on how to complete the steps. The book certainly kept my child's attention because it was funny and entertaining. I loved the tip, "Never, ever leave your monster alone with a roll of toilet paper!" We could only imagine what would happen if we did.
At first I was confused by Amazon's reading level listed as 9-12 years, but as I read the book, I realized most potty trainees can't read! So its written for an older child or adult to read to the little one.
The illustrations are the most ADORABLE! The three monsters you see on the cover are a few of many more that are featured in this book. They are super cute and appeal to both genders. My little girl who is a "girly girl" loves these little monsters. And I love them too! My favorite page is the Monster Underwear! page.
There are many potty training books out there but this one stands out as simply amazing. Not only does it have entertaining text for little ones, it incorporates information to help parents implement the ten steps. The illustrations contribute greatly to the book and together with the unique writing style, makes this book effective and a true gem. I'm glad I stumbled upon this book!

5 stars from my little monster, July 24, 2010
This review is from: How to Potty Train Your Monster (Hardcover)
I have a very strong willed 3 year old. We've been through every potty book, potty chair, potty watch known to man with no success. He is simply just too busy to take time out of his day to use the potty. FINALLY a book he's totally into. While we were in the car on our way home he was talking about using the potty and it was the first thing he wanted to do when we walked in the door! Now looking for a "little monster" he can take with him to the potty to show how its done! :)
