This is a helpful text for parents of 7th graders who will be taking the STAR (CAT 6 included) test in the spring. In 2001 California state decided to stop giving the SAT9 test and to instead return to the CAT6 test. CAT6 had been offered for many years in California previously. This is the best text to use to give your 7th grader a bit of test preparation experience. The 7th grade test is important because 7th grade test scores will be reviewed for entry into a private high school. This book is full of sample test sections, and the answers are organized at the end of each section. On a related note, you can practice online timed tests (for a fee) at www.funeducation.com
