I took the PCAT October 20, 2007, and this was the only book I used to prepare for the exam. The practice tests in this book are a joke, and they will lull you into a false sense of security. The PCAT is MUCH, MUCH harder than this book would have you think. If you are a future PCAT taker, I have this advice for you: STAY AWAY FROM THIS BOOK! If you need to prepare for the PCAT, use an MCAT prep book instead. Your money would be better spent that way. Don't make the same mistake I did. DON'T BUY THIS BOOK!!!

I've taught the PCAT and the MCAT and think that it can be helpful for PCAT students to also work on MCAT questions. The MCAT stuff is more challenging, so if you can do well on it, you're in good shape for the PCAT. The Barrons MCAT Prep book Barron's MCAT with CD-ROM has lots of practice tests and it also has some good strategy instruction. Some of the strategy is real helpful on the PCAT too, though of course some of the strategy doesn't apply.

The explanations are pretty good, but the exams in this book were way too easy. It barely went over organic chemistry. The PCAT exam is much harder.
