Mr. Evans has done a great job of placing a lot of material in a small amount of space. His concise way of sharing on the subject of HOMILETICS is exactly what the beginner needs. That is not to say that a seasoned minister cannot benefit from this book. On the contrary, I have been preaching for over 20 years and I found his common sense approach refreshing. It never hurts to go over this stuff again. A quick read.

this is the book that i us in teaching young minister. I have found this book to be very helpful and giving them the know how in the areas of how to prepare a sermon. The most of then do very well with this book and they enjoy it. I would tell all young minister to get this book of pastor.

William Evans approach to sermon writing is traditional, sobering and spiritually educational. The book takes one through clear, concise and biblical challenging steps on preparing sermon outlines and the book is an easy read and the attention span remains on alert. Good teaching tool-little hard to understand some of the stuff because the book was written so long ago.

If you ever need to write a sermon either lay or professional, this is an exceptional handy manual. It has good references and takes one through the process in an organized, easily understood manner!

A coffee table easy to read book, but can be used by university theology students studying homiletics. Excellent read for all leaders of churches or anyone who has to preach a sermon. The outlines are excellent.
