5.0 out of 5 stars Laughed until I cried!
A family member sent me this book and I thought I'd check it out but wasn't expecting much. I didn't get 3 pages into it until I was laughing so hard I was crying. I've already bought several copies for friends. If you have a sense of humor about life, you will love this book. It's a humorous look at the rapture and all the ways to "profit" from it. 2.0 out of 5 stars Neither profitable nor prophetable
My brother works in the financial industry. He gave me this book because he thought I'd enjoy it. I hope his financial advice works out better than his reading recommendations.

"How to Profit" is like most of those Saturday Night Live skits that've been made into movies. Just because something is funny for three or four minutes, that doesn't mean it will be...

I've already bought several copies for friends. If you have a sense of humor about life, you will love this book. It's a humorous look at the rapture and all the ways to "profit" from it. It's really quite ingenious - I will never look at Revelations in quite the same way.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yes, we know: Start with a large fortune!, December 12, 2008
This review is from: How to Profit From the Coming Rapture: Getting Ahead When You're Left Behind (Paperback)
The head spins and the ribs ache: these are symptoms. not of the Rapture and impending Doom, but of having read this marvelous "investment guide the Antichrist doesn't want you to read." Riding on thorough research -- or at least faking it beautifully! -- "Steve and Evie Levy" use the twisted logic and torturous insights of professional investors to skewer both greedy worshippers of Mammon and strict constructionists of the Bible. And in economic times like these, who couldn't use a little laughter? But be warned: it it's "a little laughter" you're after, better take this a few pages at a time!

Wonderful, realistic veiw of the bible. Well written, engaging & fun. I laughed myself to sleep everynight. Bought 3 more as Xmas gifts for fundamentalist friends.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, November 3, 2010

A mix of humor with half-hearted seriousness, I think this book is a must read for all people who don't believe in the rapture. It may be possible to really profit from the people who don't expect to be here when Jesus returns. It may be that one could position themselves to own a lot of assets, at least until the end does come.

2.0 out of 5 stars Neither profitable nor prophetable, June 7, 2010
This review is from: How to Profit From the Coming Rapture: Getting Ahead When You're Left Behind (Paperback)
My brother works in the financial industry. He gave me this book because he thought I'd enjoy it. I hope his financial advice works out better than his reading recommendations.

"How to Profit" is like most of those Saturday Night Live skits that've been made into movies. Just because something is funny for three or four minutes, that doesn't mean it will be funny for 90 minutes. There were some funny ideas in the book, such as buying the furniture of wackos predicting the end of the world on X date, and then selling it back to them -- at a significant mark-up! -- the day after their predictions prove false. But there are nowhere near enough of those to carry a whole book.

5.0 out of 5 stars invest now!, January 24, 2009
This review is from: How to Profit From the Coming Rapture: Getting Ahead When You're Left Behind (Paperback)
Weiner and Davilman have done it again. This is the one thing that will make the religious right's stranglehold on our public lives and the plundering of our financial markets funny. Take what's left of your money out of the bank and buy this book! (Buy two if you were a prudent investor).

When Satan is piercing your rectums with his red-hot Devil-Member, will you still be laughing? I doubt it!
Still, 5-Stars!
