5.0 out of 5 stars This is a must have book for sales and marketing people December 3, 2011
The authors have done a very very good job with this book (I have read both editions now) . I have used LinkedIn for several years and felt pretty competent with it, but these chaps have identified so many tools and tips on using it I feel like a newby all over. Such tips as keeping up with one tool for all your social networks, using LinkedIn as a steroid fueled people finder, job finder, to increase networking, locating new suppliers or partners, they pretty well cover them all. Their comments on using Groups is worth the price of the book alone. I installed the LinkedIN Outlook toolbar and was amazed at the capabilities now in the tool, (especially good in keeping Outlook contact data up to date, goodby Plaxo!) The firefox toolbar also has some hidden gems wrto extracting contact info from websites. If your job/career requires maintaining a good network, this is a must read and implement book. Google finds information, LinkedIn finds people.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent manual for every professional LinkedIn user November 28, 2011
LinkedIn was the first online network I joined back in 2004 and today it's still one of the largest global networks. In the past years lots of extra features and tools were added to the platform and it was about time that someone wrote a comprehensive manual on the use of this brilliant website. Congratulations Jan and Bert, "How to REALLY use LinkedIn" does exactly what it says on the label, it's the best and most complete manual on LinkedIn ... This is what we were waiting for !

5.0 out of 5 stars Step by Step February 20, 2012
I'm not usually a fan of books on social networking. (I really like the old fashioned way of meeting people and developing a personal network). However, I have been active on LinkedIn for over 3 years and use it almost daily. There are many authors who have written books about how to use LI, but their advice doesn't seem to fit with the site. Jan and Bert go through the ways to be successful step by step. They also have a coaching program (no charge) that sends reminders. This has really been beneficial to me. If I had this book from the beginning-- I would have saved lots of time and effort.

4.0 out of 5 stars How to REALLY use LinkedIn in War for Talent December 1, 2011
Social media, and LinkedIn in particular, have become more and more important in HR recruitment. Over the next years the War for Talent will persist and even become more intense. Employers already don't have any other choice than to look for the right people via alternative recruitment channels. But how to use LinkedIn effectively? Especially now that many extra features and tools were added to the platform? An efficient use of LinkedIn can really make the difference when looking for talented people and when you want to stay one step ahead of other recruiters or candidats. "How to REALLY use LinkedIn" makes it clear to you in no time. Use it as your guide!

4.0 out of 5 stars An excellent book on how LinkedIn works December 5, 2013
By Calum
An excellent book on how LinkedIn works. Sure, there are gaps, and sure, it could do with more screen shots. But that is quibbling. If you want to learn how to use LinkedIn more effectively, this is a good resource.

5.0 out of 5 stars Clear, simple, valuable. April 8, 2013
Before jumping into the practicalities, this book starts with a clear description of the mindset necessary to gain the most benefit from LinkedIn. The authors approach this topic with experience, wisdom and a sense of an abundant world, rather than a scarce, competitive world. As each chapter progresses I am making changes to my profile and practices. For anyone of who using LinkedIn or considering using LinkedIn, this is a must read.
