Book Description

1964
One of the earliest (modern era) books on this rare breed of dog. Chinese Crested are unusual and fascinating. They are rarely bothered by fleas, do not shed, have virtually no odor, bathe easily and their habits are fastidious, all of which makes them ideal pets for children, adults and, particularly, apartment dwellers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gorgeous book for Crested Lovers, August 6, 2009
This book is a must for all Chinese Crested lovers all over the world. A true classic. Probably the first book ever written about this breed.

4.0 out of 5 stars A rare glimpse into the early foundation dogs of this breed, January 4, 2010
By
This review is from: How to Raise and Train a Chinese Crested (Paperback)
The photos and few pages of text dedicated to the early examples and origins of this breed make this book an interesting read for hardcore breeders and breed fans. However, the majority of the book is dedicated to general dog care rather than breed-specific details. If you collect Chinese Crested books and history, this book is a must-have, being that it's the first book ever written about the breed, and most of the photos are unavailable anywhere else.

But if you want in-depth historical information on Chinese Cresteds and their history, a much better (and cheaper) book would be 'Hairless Dogs: The Naked Truth' by Kelly Rhae.
