This review is from: How to Respond to Muslims (How to Respond to World Religions) (Paperback)
...I saw a copy of this book (it's actually short - almost a booklet) at a church event and read through it. This book doesn't claim to be a complete authority on the topic, and it is written from the Christian perspective, but it is a great starter if this topic interests you. And by the way, if you are around Muslims, you should definitely learn more about the topic so you can offer an effective discussion - not a lot of re-hashed CNBC reporting.

Most Christians do not know key facts about Islam, and that makes their witnessing attempts weaker. For instance, Muslims hold Jesus in high reverence, and they believe in many of the same prophets that Christians study. But they key point this book makes is that they do not hold to the supreme deity of Jesus Christ. They believe that He is just one of many holy men, but beneath Muhammad. Obviously this is important for Christians to understand, and this book does a good job of spelling out that point and offering suggestions about where to take the conversation. And that's really the best feature of this book: it offers an opportunity to start learning about Christianity in relation to Islam and gets you ready to share your faith with Muslims.

One other point (and this is kind of personal): People are fallen. Whether Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, etc, they make mistakes and need a Savior. Yes, the Christian history is full of mistakes and bloodshed, but Christianity is true and God is holy. Christians do not say that Islam is incorrect because of the actions of bin Laden or the Taliban, but that it's incorrect because Jesus Christ is our Savior and Islam does not believe He is Supreme. That's an important distinction to make, and this book can be one way to help you down that road of understanding.
