Against all odds, the Sorentino sisters saved their family's rundown New Mexico ranch, but the youngest has a dream that just may ruin their hard-earned peace--unless a certain sexy cowboy lawyer changes her mind...
Jenna Sorentino is as independent as they come. Despite her wild past, she's grown up enough to keep quiet about the identity of her baby's daddy, go to night college--and hide her plan to escape tiny Catcher Creek. She's also stopped dreaming of happily ever after--except in the case of gorgeous, rugged, Santa Fe native Matt Roenick. Too bad the oil rights attorney acts like he barely knows she's alive...
Matt knows only too well that Jenna's alive--in fact, she's driving him crazy with desire. But Matt's got his reasons for resisting her. And when her son's father shows up, those reasons multiply. Trouble is, Jenna's secrets are more complicated than he imagined, and forgetting her isn't as easy as he'd hoped. Matt knows life can be messy as hell. For Jenna, maybe it's time he got dirty...
HOW TO ROPE A REAL MAN is Book 3 in the Catcher Creek Cowboys series
Book 1 - The Trouble with Cowboys (October 2012) Book 2 - Cowboy Justice (October 2013) Book 3 - How to Rope a Real Man (May 2014)
*** (contemporary romance, cowboy romance, secret baby daddy, Jewish hero, interfaith relationship, small town, New Mexico, sibling relationships, college, high heat level)
In reading the first two books in this series, the glimpses we get of Jenna, I knew her story was going to be a doozy. Cutler did not let me down. Jenna has had a rough life and been through a LOT before Matt comes into it. It was no surprise to me that she was on the defensive with men, I was glad to see her walls crumble and her giving Matt a chance.
What I didn’t expect, but fit this story OH so well, was Matt’s painful past and history. And how he viewed himself. I just wanted to hug him all the time. Even when he was making me crazy with his stupid ways of thinking, I wanted to smack him and then hug him.
My attention was grabbed from moment one to discover Jenna’s secrets and watch her work through starting a relationship with Matt. As expected of the author, this book was not a cookie cutter version of the secret baby trope, No, it was so much more and so different. There is a lot going on in Jenna’s life at the opening of the book, She’s hiding lots of secrets from her sister’s, her son, and the town in general. It was exciting as I read along to learn more of these secrets, Jenna’s reasons for keeping them, her feelings about the secrets and the reactions of those around her when they discovered them. In addition to Jenna's secrets, Matt has some pretty big ones of his own and he's afraid to let them out. As he struggles with all he's hiding and everything he knows he wants but is afraid he doesn't deserve, I fell more and more in love with him myself!
I won’t spoil the story by going into specifics but there were so so many moments in this story that I loved. Watching the sisters, Amy, Rachel, and Jenna finally get to KNOW each other in ways they had never been open to before was one of the best.Read more ›

Spotlight & Review: How To Rope A Real Man: Catcher Creek #3 by Melissa Cutler [...] Publication Date: May 6, 2014 Reading In Pajamas/ Dawn & Cori Rated: 4.5 Stars
Perfection! How to Rope A Real Man had everything I look for in a great story! I loved the interactions between the characters and the story was well written and flowed easily. There was danger, suspense, emotion and sizzling romance.
Jenna has her life all mapped out and the plan is to finish her degree in a few weeks and skip town. She is convinced this is the only way to protect her son. The town she lives in is so narrow minded and Jenna figures its only a matter of time before the small town knows her secret. And then she meets Matt. Matt is everything she would want in a man, if she wanted a man. Matt doesn't get involved with single moms. He has had his heart broken too many times. When this has not worked out in the past, he not only loses the relationship, he loses the family too. Matt wants nothing more than to be a dad. Matt and Jenna's seem to connect on every other level. Jenna knows one night with Matt would blow her mind and Matt knows one night with Jenna would never be enough. When they do come together they nearly burn up the sheets as their passion explodes. Jenna and Matt both fall hard for each other quick. Jenna still has to get out of town, and when her son's father comes back into town, she might have to leave sooner than she thought. Jenna's priority is protecting her son, and she will stop at nothing to keep him safe. Jenna and Matt love each other, but can they live without each other and is love enough?
I recommend this book and the series for romance lovers. Each book in the series can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading them all. Melissa Cutler is an author to watch!

How To Rope A Real Man revolves around the life of the third Sorentino sister – Jenna. Twenty –four year old Jenna is a single mom with a five year old son named Tommy. She has a huge crush on Matt Roenick. He is an oil rights attorney who played a big part in saving the family’s livelihood. Jenna is keeping many secrets from her sisters. The biggest one being is no one knows who fathered Tommy. Matt has secrets of his own. One is that he no longer dates single moms. He has been hiding his feelings about Jenna for months.
Jenna is the wedding planner for sister Amy’s wedding. The one thing Amy wanted for her wedding was lots of flowers. When the florist cancels less than a day before the wedding, Matt volunteers to have his sister Tara do the flowers. She is a florist in Santa Fe three hours away. Jenna and Matt hit the road with the clock ticking.
Things to ponder: Will the wedding go off without a hitch? Why is Jenna planning to leave town? Will Matt’s secret be a game changer? Will Jenna and Matt reveal their feelings to each other?
Melissa’s writing grabs you right from the beginning of the story – it will keep you turning those pages until you reach a satisfying ending. This was one sexy read from beginning to end. The plotting moved the book at a comfortable pace – letting you get to know the main characters. She also brings back characters from the other books in the Catcher Creek series. I love that you are kept up to date with the happenings of the other Sorentino sisters. This author never disappoints. So if you like a story filled with hunky cowboys and lots of romance, then you should be reading How To Rope A Real Man.

Melissa Cutler knows she has the best job in the world, dividing her time between her dual passions for writing sexy small town contemporary romances, western romances, and edge-of-your-seat romantic suspense for a variety of publishers, including Harlequin, Kensington Books, Penguin, and Macmillan. She was struck at an early age by an unrelenting travel bug and is probably planning her next vacation as you read this. When she's not globetrotting, she's enjoying Southern California's flip-flop wearing weather and wrangling two rambunctious kids.
