5.0 out of 5 stars Get Your Eyes Opened, January 5, 2001

This review is from: How Saved Are We? (Paperback)
For a small book this was one is awesome in clearly stating the current condition of the church or more specifically the Christian. Even though the book was written in 1990 it is more than applicable today. I just finished the book this morning. If you want to rise above the average Christian life and find out what we should be doing then this book is for you. If you don't want to be motivated, don't read it, if you don't want to really serve Christ don't buy the book. If you don't want to reach souls for Jesus then this book isn't for you. But the hour is late and there are so many unreached people. Buy the book you'll never be the same.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not For the Lukewarm!!!, June 19, 2005
This review is from: How Saved Are We? (Paperback)
Watch out for this wake up call from Michael Brown. His "fire" leaps off the pages and rattles your cage.
Prepare to have your walk with God changed by what is written in this book. This book is a real challenge to anyone that professes Christ as Lord!

5.0 out of 5 stars We need to hear this!, March 23, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: How Saved Are We? (Paperback)
There has been so much confusion on who a Christian should be, how we should act or what we should believe. Finally not another "make me feel good about myself" band-aid to put over a gaping cancer wound. We need the truth and not a theory of who we should be and I thank Dr. Brown for a reality check.

5.0 out of 5 stars Think again, February 20, 2000
This review is from: How Saved Are We? (Paperback)
This book will make you think about the very essence of your christianity. The way you think about salvation and possibly how departmentalised you can become. It could even shake the very foundations of your beliefs.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW! WE NEED THIS TO ROCK THE CHURCH, May 29, 2007
This review is from: How Saved Are We? (Paperback)
This book is WONDERFUL. Even if you think yourself to be godly and God fearing, you'll be rocked to your core with conviction; you'll be challenged to seek the beautiful face of our Savior and follow Him in a sacrificial and no-holds-barred way. You may think you're already doing this, but you'll be shocked. This book is truly a rude awakening and one we need so badly!

The American church is in such sad state. Rather than us changing the world, the world has changed and corrupted us and we're so deceived that we think little or nothing of it. We compare our actions to the world's actions and therefore think we're doing ok. Shouldn't we be comparing ourselves with the WORD OF GOD and seeing our need for repentance and godly living, rather than comparing ourselves with the enemies of God (James 4:4) as if that's some type of ruler that God would be pleased with? The church has been so [...] by so many worldly influences that it's no longer the church. We don't stand against sin as it might offend someone. We don't rebuke each other, because as some will say "we're judging." Do we even want to live godly in Christ Jesus or do we want to justify ourselves and be left alone to wallow in the mud?! When are we going to stand up for the Lord and boldly stand against the sin that He died for, regardless of what people think of us? When are we going to heed the warning in Ezekiel 3:16-21? Lord, may you help us to mimic the early Church and stand strong and bold for You, no matter the cost!

What has become the "I'm doing good for God" norm for the American Christian is what causes others around the world to come to us as a mission field--we're pathetic and need help! May God help us! Thank you Michael Brown for allowing the Lord to work so powerfully through you to give us these words of warning. It's been such a blessing for our family and I'm sure to every lover of God that reads it.

5.0 out of 5 stars The book calls for a rude awakening for all the christians!!!, November 13, 2008
By
Greta (Delhi, India) - See all my reviews
This review is from: How Saved Are We? (Paperback)
This unsettling book is a master book from Dr.Michael L.Brown, a Jewish believer in Yeshua (Jesus) and one of the foremost scholars on Jewish Apologetics. He challenges the christians of today to ask themselves what kind of born again experience they have had if it calls for almost no personal sacrifice, produces virtually no separaton from the world, and breeds practically no hatred of sin. For years, we have preached a defective message - and now we have a defective church. The book powerfully echoes the similar message that Pastor John MacArther has dealt with so strongly in his many books, particularly, "The Gospel according to Jesus" and "Ashamed of the Gospel".

Dr. Brown says that though salvation is by grace through faith and we can add nothing to it, yet it is the grace of God that teaches us to say 'NO' to ungodliness and wordly passions and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age (Titus 2:11-12). True faith is known by what it does, since faith without deeds is useless (James 2:20). Read this book and find out how saved we are. It is time for a rude awakening!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Cut Above, December 27, 2011
This review is from: How Saved Are We? (Paperback)
Fifteen years ago, I read this book. It transformed my thinking on "being saved" and clarified my purpose for being. It brought me up to a way of thinking and living that set the course for my life. I gave it away, and now look to purchase it again for a refresher. It's ageless!

5.0 out of 5 stars To All With Hearts Willing To Hear, May 2, 2011
By
This review is from: How Saved Are We? (Paperback)
I recommend the book "How Saved Are We?" to anyone who has ears to hear. I've bought a few copies already and have passed them to others. May God have mercy on us all, and may we see that we have an oppurtunity to live in such a way so that when we are face to face with God, we don't have to regret our days and years spent hear on the earth. I hope I will seek to take more advantage of the time I have to know Christ in deeper repentance and purity through prayer, fasting, giving to those in need and feeding on Christ and on the truth of God's Word just as those faithful martyrs who have gone before us.
