I bought this because I am autistic, and typical communications are often overwhelming and/or confusing for me. O am always looking for guides about communication and interacting with people in a respectful, appropriate way. This has been an excellent reference for when when I need to write or reply to someone about a variety of topics. Not only does this book talk about how to say certain things, it also talks about what NOT to say, along with helpful writing tips, and tips for special situations.

I highly recommend this book for anyone looking for good core communication tips and ideas that can help in this giant world of confusing language.

I originally purchased this in hardbound book form and I found it very useful. When I received a Kindle, I downloaded this version and have used it many times at work. I can't usually lug around a large book but I can take my Kindle with me many places and this version has helped me out many times at work and in other situations where I need a better choice of words. The index brings me right where I need to be, and I go from there.

A broad selection of writing examples with short and useful explanations of how and when to use them. Even after years of writing in many of these genres, I see I have more to learn.

I owned a previous print edition to this book, but when I needed to turn a phrase, it was 150 miles away! So, now it's on my Tablet and I can get access it anytime, anywhere.

"How to Say It" is an excellent resource for formal letter writing, especially writing cover letters and condolence letters. It is easy to find exactly what you're trying to say by following the Table of Contents. Highly recommended!

Right now, I have gotten used to writing in a more professional way. Learning the words to say, makes a difference whether your email gets read or not. The response gets better when the proper words are communicated instead of the moderate language. I get a better response now, than when I started learning positive words.
