Review

"A must read...Saving yourself from the IRS in a fast and easy way." -- Consumer Law Foundation

"One of the best personal IRS defense books out there today!" -- Barry Chesler, Trimark Partners --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

From the Publisher

The fact that millions of Americans are in deep trouble with the IRS should hardly be surprising. There are simply too many opportunities to run afoul of the tax laws. As the tax laws become increasingly complex and taxes escalate, more and more Americans will end up with big bills due to the IRS.

But there is one item of good news: It is now easier than ever before to resolve tax matters with the IRS. The IRS Offer In Compromise (OIC) program encourages delinquent taxpayers to settle their back taxes...often for pennies on the dollar! --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent "How To" advice, April 21, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: How to Settle With the IRS for Pennies on the Dollar (Paperback)
Using only the material contained in this book I negotiated (without the expense of lawyer, accountant or ex-IRS official) a fifteen cents on the dollar settlement of a past due account with the IRS. I found the advice clear and easy to follow. Bottom line: if you are having problems with the IRS this book is definitely worth buying and reading.

4.0 out of 5 stars This is a good book, discussing the IRS Offer in Compromise program, June 22, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a good book, covering the topic of the IRS Offer in Compromise Program. The author also talks about other avenues for mitigating IRS debt. The information is useful and well put together. There's a little bit of shameless self-promotion in the book, which I guess can be expected.

But the content is all there, and it's good. This is one of the few OIC books on the market that's affordable, too. I've seen some OIC books selling for upwards of $100, so if you are considering an OIC, read this book cover to cover before you even attempt it.

The IRS doesn't like to compromise--they hate doing anybody any favors. So you might as well be as informed as you can.

5.0 out of 5 stars Before you pay someone...buy this book..., January 15, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Most people who owe the IRS a bunch of money can't afford one of those shady attorneys who claim they can help negotiate a deal for you. I read this book and googled examples of others who had a similar situation, who settled with the IRS for less. My offer in compromise was excepted and I ended up paying $4800 instead of $29,000.

The IRS was actually helpful once they believed my story..Before you pay someone, buy this book, it worked for me.
